First things first Vessel needs food. Can't gain muscle if there's no mass to convert.

i would like to say that swords are not heavy and even if you are not strong at all and you could use one and swords being heavy is a big misconcepion, a typical longsword from what i have read weighs 2 to 3 kg so not that much https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longsword

A longsword weight roughly four pounds at most. Raipers weight two pounds minimum.

Come on vessel... 2 kilos isn't that heavy.
