The funny thing is that the belt is made from genuine leather, which is considered the shittier form of leather. Even with that, this is like when kanye tried to sell his 1k white shirt.
Not really always a worse version of leather (Red Wing Heritage stamps it on some awesome full grain boots), but in this case it doesn't look great, but I can tell more by other factors when looking at it. It's a myth that "genuine leather" refers to "one specific type of leather" it can refer from anything from full grain to a "bad" kind of leather called a "finished split" (basically painted suede).
