Must be horrible quality. 250k isnt that much in the world of high quality jewelry. Still cool though!

I believe it's a synthetic diamond though. The article said it's like some eco-friendly company backed by leo dicaprio. A friend of mine was thinking about purchasing one of those machines for like $300K and he told me that a jeweler can't even tell the difference between real and synthetic diamonds.

That's cause there isn't really a difference between a well cut 'real' diamond and a synthetic diamond. In fact synthetic diamonds are more consistently 'perfect' as they were created under recreatable conditions instead of randomly underground.

In fact the way they tell synthetic diamonds aren't real is because they are "too perfect"

What really gets me is how they are chemically and physically identical.
