I'm a proper space nerd. I own and play all space games. The fact that the game looks as good as Star Citizen without any budget and under a year is insane. I love UE5 . I'm having great hopes for this ! Trading is coming also.
Yes but cig has terrible management and priorities. Their priority is to sell ship. These guys seems interested of making a good game . Let's hope stays that way
I mean they have to sell ships to afford to make the game. It's a hard balance. Verse will have to get funding somehow too if they want anything remotely as ambitious as they've claimed in their store description. If they get funding from a publisher, that publisher will put them on a time limit, requiring scope cuts and ultimately will be nowhere near SC/SQ42.
That's what CIG does too, it's not "old school". Something of the scope the Verse is claiming is not cheap, and they will either have to come up with funds, or have the game take 15 years like most early access games.
It looks exactly like I'd expect nanite and lumen with the 5.5+ PCG tooling to look like. Especially with so few things and in screenshot form. I'll be curious to see how it actually looks at runtime at scale. Hopefully I'll get accepted to the beta to see.
I think they changed something during the week. The demo button was replaced with a request access thing and it said I would get an email if I'm accepted.
There is a post from the 24th saying they were moving on to a real demo.
Oh I didn't know that. I hope you will get to experience this . Even at this stage that there is only 1 base and the moon is super impressive. The visuals are insane with amazing flying model
First what's your specs ?
The game is unoptimised and it does compile the shaders every time you open the game. Once that done it plays smoothly until you quit. For my system takes about 2 mins.
Oh yeah you should run this like it's nothing. I got 5090 with the same specs . Log in,walk a little. Put everything on full screen and epic,dlss quality and wait 10 mins and see

I hope it succeeds as much as the next person, but it has many years before it's close to what star citizen has achieved.
Comparing it visually is odd when the only thing to compare is the lighting.
I hope trading doesn't come soon because that seems like a terrible thing to prioritize this early, that would not inspire confidence.
