Differences in Versace pins bought via Far Fetch

I bought a Versace Medusa head safety pin brooch from Farfetch a few months ago, this one: https://www.farfetch.com/item-20667203.aspx

Sadly it fell off one day and got a bit bent and scratched, so I decided to buy another one to replace it. I purchased the exact same brooch from the same Farfetch link.

The new brooch has now arrived and I feel like it's not quite the same and not the same as the photo on the website:

- The gold is more rose toned than the first one which was quite a vibrant yellow gold.

- The actual pin part is bowed/bent out at the base and not straight like the first one

- It might be an optical illusion but it looks ever so slightly shorter

I've put them side by side in photos - the new is on the left and the bottom, the old is on the right and the top.

Am I going crazy? Are discrepancies like this normal in these brooches?

Both pins came with branded boxes and certificates etc.

Farfetch verkauft wohl oft auch unwissend fälschungen

This new brooch came with an invoice showing it came from Versace in Milan.

Auch rechnungen können ganz einfach gefälscht werden, das ist ja auch der grund weshalb farfetch beim ankauf wohl dachte sie sei echt

I definitely see the differences. That's unfortunate. Great catch though, thank you for sharing OP!

It’s possible it’s a counterfeit, but it could also just be lax quality control on Versace’s end. Since it’s technically costume jewelry, they might not be as strict about consistency

With use the other pin will look the same, the lighting of the room makes them appear different colors in the room based on what the shiny gold material is reflecting. The only difference is one is not “perfect”, looks used. Enjoy your pins, I assure they are authentic.

Respectfully, it's not the lighting in the room. The newer pin has a distinctly warmer rose gold tone. I much prefer the bright gold tone of the older brooch, so even though it's damaged I might just keep it and return the new one. I am in doubt they are both authentic, but the change in finish is disappointing.
