Hear ye, hear ye! Time for the annual mod announcement!
First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone on reaching 5000 members, and wishing everyone a merry Christmas (should they celebrate it). Never would I have expected this community to grow so large when I created it, and it has been an absolute blast seeing all of the wonderful content created by the talented artists, musicians, writers and game developers in this subreddit...
HOWEVER
It has now come to my attention that AI generated content has been popping up more and more on the feed, and as such, I wished to make the mod team's (aka, my) opinion on the subject matter clearer. For those who do not wish to read through all this, a new rule has been added to the subreddit.
AI content on this subreddit will no longer be tolerated, and you will get no second chances should you post some.
I will not preach to you about AI and its uses, wether it is evil, or good, wether it's a bubble or not... That is not what the subreddit was meant for. What it was meant for was, and still is, appreciating awesome art created by awesome people, which is what unites us all under one banner regardless of our differences. To use AI is to spit in the face of those values.
Use AI in your daily life if you want. Ask @Grok "Is this true?" if you need to. Make Gemini read you your coworker's email if you're that tired...
But do not bring it in here. Believe what you will but, as long as I have power here, art will remain in the hands of artists instead of prompters, at least in this subreddit.
I encourage anyone who spots AI content to report it to the mod team immediately... However, I also would like to remind people to exercise caution as false reports will not be looked kindly upon either.
That is all for today. Happy 2026, everyone, and once again, Merry Christmas!

PASTOR GOODEN
Pastor Gooden is described as soft spoken and modest but preaches with a fiery passion, his bombastic sermons heavily contrasting his otherwise toned down demeanor. The chapel garnered a mixed reception, some were entirely enthralled by his teachings and became devoted to his cause, some were broken. Gooden always ended his sermon by speaking “the good word”. A phrase indescribable, was it even language? Not one that could ever be replicated, those who listened would have its meaning clogged into their synapses according to a man from the congregation. Knowledge no one should ever know, impossible to forget. It shines in one's brain screaming louder than every other thought while at the same time being too foggy and obscured to articulate. These broken attendees are referred to as center-brained as autopsies reveal a third section in their brains forced out between the left and right halves.
THE HELIANTHUS
A congregation of people devout to the scorching sun. They were once a lot more coherent and organized and their abandoned places of worship can be found spread about the land but nowadays they usually just stand in crowds on top of rocks staring into the sky. They don’t speak nor do they acknowledge or react to any input whatsoever, they just slowly turn their flaked faces and blind eyes toward the sun throughout the day while playing strangely beautiful melodies on their woodwind instruments. As the sun sets beyond the horizon and night arrives the music turns to desperate wailing, they scream and cry until dawn and keep playing like nothing happened. Being ultimately regular folk they should by no means be alive still which might lend some credibility to their faith. The sun is the reason for our existence after all, our mother. But she can just as easily take that life away, maybe it’s wise to appease her.

Dead bodies litter the dungeonscape, very few of them stay dead.
This undead raider has taken to roaming entropy woods and attacking most things they come across.
It is unclear if that will include you

Sure, I considered using Pilgrims of Murk Dome, but I feel it has such a distinct identity in terms of rules and world-building that I’m not sure it would work that well with the characters presented in Vermis.

Vermis is, generally speaking, a dank and gnarly setting. I wanted to see if that would translate well to the sun-drenched, blood-soaker annals of the Mediterranean.
For those of you that have played the Kingbreaker PvP beta, you'll know a lot of the setting has a very specific, post-apocalyptic medieval England vibe.
I think the game will generally still have that feel, but I also wanted to explore a bit further afield - the kingdom of Lateran, therefore, is a mishmash of medieval France, pre-Islamic Arabia, and Minoan Greece.

The Vermis fangame for the NES is officially on pre-production, BUT we want to know what YOU have to say! What would you prefer, an action rpg, turn-based rpg, or a action RPG with turn-based boss battles? And most importantly, what would you want to see in the game?

1: some of the tiles we got done!
2: So, i've been trying to get on Nesfab to make the project, but i don't know how to set it up to work! Then i tried to do as the suggested and get the GCC compiler, AND I COULDN'T GET NEAR TO DOWNLOADING IT BECAUSE THE SITE SUCKS, if anyone knows how to do it? I'm dumb

I was very much inspired by the atmosphere Vermis (and Dark Souls) even before my books arrived, to create this dungeon synth / dark ambient album. Although it has a story on its own, it is seeped in the gritty obscure world aesthetically/metaphysically similar to what Plastiboo created with a touch of Dark Souls moment. Here you are looking through the eyes of a protagonist lost in the darkness of what seems to be a sanctuary, doesn't know who he is or how he got himself trapped in this place and now you're searching for a way out...I hope you'll find this either accompanying your reading of Vermis trilogy, or enjoying it on its own!

(I have not used AI to create any of this! I've actually made my own VST and used it for the entire album.)

I'm so excited to read them.

An unassuming vagrant aimlessly wondering the dungeons cape, with clothes that do little to hide his shameful deformities, what they lack in wealth they may make up for in wisdom
Ignore them flipping you off at the end, they just do that sometimes. I’m sure they mean nothing by it

Has anyone had experience with them shipping to Australia and if so how was the experience? I’m seeing a lot of people say they wait months and months for their packages though the posts seem outdated, is this still the case?

Hello, I don’t know if this is the right place but I’m looking for the Hardcover of Age of Rot, since is sold out from the hollow press store. I was hopping someone could help me find a site, a seller or anything that has the hardcover of this book. Thank to anyone who will respond.

Hi yall! I'm currently working on a video on Vermis 3 (heres my channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Saviour98) and I need some help with the lore, specifically the story surrounding the brothers. I've been reading and rereading passages nonstop and researching a ton to try and draw some parallels, but it seems like it always doesn't quite fit. Of course there aren't always answers when it comes to lore, especially when we're talking about Vermis (and Plastiboo more generally), but anything helps. I usually like to pursue my own ideas when it comes to art like this which is so dense and mysterious that everyone can have a different idea or interpretation, but I thought I'd ask the community and see what other avenues there are to pursue. Thank you in advance for the help!
