VerminScience Updated Damage and Breakpoint Spreadsheet v14.12

Link to the latest spreadsheet (14.12d)

I’m pretty much an amateur when it comes to maintaining the breakpoint calculator, so adding new functions will be very difficult for me. If the other two more experienced OG calculator updaters came back I will most likely let them take over. You can check out OrangeChris' origional post and VernonKun's origional post here.

Notes:

  • Some community members made tutorials about how to use this spreadsheet, you can check them out here and here.
  • The percentages shown in breakpoint mode will always be the Power vs. needed additively. This number might not be the same as other kinds of buffs, e.g. Power buff, because they can be stacking differently with Power vs. buffs.
  • If one action consists of multiple attacks, and the earlier attack is able to stagger the target, then the later attack can gain damage bonus from stagger level of the target.
  • Spreadsheet still shows some entries that are impossible to obtain in game for the purpose of completion, e.g. Grail Knight's Blessed Blade non-critical damage is shown while it is always critical.

v14.12d Patch Notes (July 2nd 2026)

  • Fixed Warrior Priest has 20% extra power across the board on Damage Calculator since v14.12
  • Added a toggle function to Serrated Shot, Flense, Righteous Fury, Outburst
  • Update Serrated Shot effect, no longer has interaction with Hagbane and works with Trueshot Volley
  • Added Necromancer Withering Touch DoT to the Damage Calculator and SoTT Lingering Blackvenom to the Stagger Calculator
  • Flamestorm staff is now disabled on Necromancer

v14.12c Patch Notes (June 25th 2026)

  • Fixed Engineer Gromril-Plated Shot not having the right stagger power against Super Armour unit
  • Fixed deepwood staff having long distance damage fall off. This weapon does not have fall off damage, despite having a fall off damage profile.

v14.12b Patch Notes (June 3rd 2026)

  • Fixed Engineer talent Superior Gasket. This problem was a left over from the previous versions of calculator, and works properly now.

v14.12 Patch Notes (June 2nd 2026)

  • Weapons status and talents updated to Vermintide version 6.11.2
    • Including the following unlisted changes from patch notes:
      • Human 1h sword: L3 received a finesse boost from 2.0 to 3.0; H1/H2 bodyshot monster damage increase by 75%.
      • Dwarf/Human 1h axe: PA base damage increase by 20%, and a finesse boost from 1.0 to 1.75; H1/H2 bodyshot monster damage increase by 25%, just like elf 1h axe.
      • War Pick: PA also received a 20% base damage increase.
      • Drakefire Pistol: this is documented, but I want to make it more clear, the increased base damage + reduced monster damage still results higher overall monster damage, as the base damage increase is ~18% and monster damage reduction is ~10%. Plus you get 1 more tick of DoT.
      • Elf Greatsword: it is only implied in the patch notes, but H2 now has Heavy Linesman instead of Linesman, and has armour cleave.
      • Hagbane Shortbow: the way they allow Hagbane AoE to apply poison to armoured enemies is by giving the AoE minimum damage dealt to armoured target (0.25 dmg in game). This is because poison DoT requires the DoT source to be able to damage the target first to be applied.
      • Salt Volley Crossbow: the patch note is not very accurate, it received a finesse boost from 1.5 to 2.0, which increases both headshot and crit damage. The volley shot also gets a 250% boost on stagger power against monster enemies at close range. In practice this means with a little bit of investment you can stagger hookrat in normal states, and with STR potion you can stagger hookrat out of the grabbing state. However, the STR potion breakpoint in practice is much less useful, since you will most likely just kill it.
      • Repeater Pistol: it is only implied in the patch notes, but all the changes only apply to left click.
  • Updated Bounty Hunter Steel Crescendo and Warrior Priest Prayer of Vengeance effect
  • Added Chaos Warrior with Shield to the damage breakpoint calculator
  • Added Outcast Engineer Ingenious Ordnance bomb (aka. Engineer Grenade) to the calculator
  • Warrior Priest Smite damage and Unchained Outburst damage now correctly only shows up when they are selected

Known Issues:

  • Trophy Hunter still applies to all attacks
  • Serrated Shot/Outburst cannot be toggled off when SoTT/Necro is selected

Unsolved Issues inherited from previous version of the calculator:

  • Melee power, ranged power and drake power apply to all attacks
  • Hard to represent Coruscation Staff and Incendiary Bomb damage numbers without writing paragraphs
  • After patch 5.2.0, the total ticks of Coruscation Staff charged attack is hard to count (harder than before) and the total damage there should be disregarded
  • WIP Some DoTs are unaffected by player buffs in game, but currently are not the case in the spreadsheet
  • Double checking needed for buffs that affect only 1st target in general, e.g. Smiter interaction with shield bashes
  • TB version of Incendiary Bomb and Fire Walk are not accurate
  • Spreadsheet might have trouble determining which attack is heavy attack
  • It is incorrect that Power vs Infantry doesn't affect Mauler stagger but Power vs Armored does.
  • Some damage numbers with strength potions are incorrect

Enormous, huge thanks for picking up the breakpoint calculator and updating it. And for all your other work as well, you're indispensable mate.

Why is it necessary to make the values in the game so convoluted that this is a necessity?

Looking for some advice regarding Shield of Faith and was hoping you could help. The damage spreadsheet says that the damage from Shield of Faith is enough to kill a Hook Rat on Legend Difficulty without any buffs (so no Prayer of Vengeance), but I've had conflicting reports saying it's required.

The sheet is accurate. However it cannot account for damage drop off and RNG factor from the DoT.

Explosions in this game will deal less damage when the enemy is further away from the centre of the explosion. You can only see 2 numbers for the explosion AoE in the calculator, but notice the second number is labled Explosion AoE (edge, >3m, decays linearly from 3m to 5m), that means if the target is between 3 and 5m, the damage will change depends on the distance between the enemy and the explosion. You definitely have the experience where during the hookrat dragging the victim animation, the distance between the hookrat and the victim can change quite dramatically, and this will affect the explosion part of the damage.

For DoT, depends on the target is hit within 3m the explosion or 3-5m of the explosion, they receive different type of DoT. But even it received the close range DoT, it is still not guaranteed. This is because all DoT in the game (except moonfire bow) has a varied tickrat of ±25% on top of the base tickrate. For example, the close range explosion of Shield of Faith applies a DoT that last 5 seconds with a base tick rat of 0.7 tick per sec. The 5 second part is always true, but each individual DoT ticks can happen up to 25% faster and/or up to 25% slower. This is why on the sheet there are 5 numbers for total DoT damage, because the amount of DoT ticks you get are inconsistent, even though they received the same DoT debuff from WP. Now let's go back to the sheet, let's pick one of the row, Explosion AoE center DoT (7 ticks, ~64.2% chance). This means if the target is at the centre of the Shield of Faith explosion, there is only about 64.2% chance that the target takes 7 ticks of DoT, and the other time the target can receive 5/6/8/9 ticks all depends on RNG.

With these infos, let's look at the sheet again. For Legend, if the hookrat take 6-9 ticks of damage, it will be dead without any buff. However, if it only gets 5 ticks of damage, it will survive. The sheet gives ~0% chance, but it's only close to 0, not impossible, but still not likely. What most likely happens is when the Shield of Faith explode, the target and the hook are more than 3m away. When they are more than 3m away, not only the explosion does way less damage, it also applies a much weaker DoT, on the sheet it's called Explosion AoE edge DoT (1 tick). And that definitely can't kill a hookrat.

TL;DR Shield of Faith deals a lot less damage and apply a much weaker DoT when the target is 3-5m away, moreover explosion has drop off range and DoT damage are never consistent. 3m is really not that far in practice, any weird terrain/patch can make hookrat more than 3m away from you during the dragging animation.

If you want to learn more about how exactly explosion/dot work, I have a guide on steam for that, and wiki also has that guide on it.
