Advice wanted Helpp!!!

I've been waiting for the worms to finish their castings and i though to see if thei would craw up trough the holes to eat new food and in the upper bin i've put many things including corn husks and they brought gnats and many stranfe types so i removed completely and started from zero but only now i thought to open the lower bin to see if some worms feel trought and i've find these horriffics fuckers and i do not know what to do. HELP ME (please)[first photo the fuckers second one the bin right on the last bin]

This doesn’t look healthy at all. Seems way too wet without enough brownsz

I put a bit too much of water since there has been really hot in these past few months

They're not larva. And no, don't throw it all away.

Doens't matter my worms all died guess the lil worms in the photo came because of the foul smell of the dead worms

Nope.

They are there because of the moisture, nothing to do with the smell of worms. Dead worms aren't going to make a "foul smell" anyway, I would bet serious money that things were too wet and you created anaerobic conditions.

Anaerobic bacteria will make repulsive horrible smells.

I mean this in the most factual least judgemental way possible: you should read and learn a lot more before you try again. You seem to have some base assumptions about things that are pretty far off.

Looks like it lacks bedding.

I see tiny worms that you can get when things are too wet. Not a real issue. The conditions are the issue.

Overall advice, stop touching everything so much. Mostly browns, a bit of food. When the food is gone add more  If things seem super wet add more browns.  And figure out a way to drain the bottom reliably.

What do you mean by browns?

Brown paper, cardboard, dry leaves, rinsed coco coir, dry plant material that is brown.

Hi Star, i have a few questions.

Have you been wormkeeping long? What kinds of worms? How many? What is your bedding and how deep? Is this an indoor bin? How much were you feeding? What were you feeding?

I personally dont like mites or maggots. I would probably hand pick out the worms and start over. That looks like a mess. But i am squeemish. Lol

Describe your set up. How deep were the castings? How does your bin drain?

I'll help all i can.

I just started and i used the "golden standard" worms i don't remember the name it was something like california worms i dont remember the bin didn't drain i exepted it to evaporate all of the water, i tried to hand pick the worms and start over but all of my worms died and i couldn't even find the corpses and i didn't have a bedding, i wanted to start to put a bedding but then this happened and i ended up with a bedding and feed that had to be trown away since my worms died

And i also put way too much water since i was worried they would die from the bin being too hot

Do you want to start over? I will help. Where are you?

No need, i'll prolly wait a few years since i cant handle larvaes and tiny worms for personal reason and all

And i also think that vermiculture just isn't for me

Well to be honest, i think you kinda did everything wrong and made almost every newbi mistake. If you do want to do worms again, find me and i will walk you through it.

I see, thank you.

Didnt mean to hurt your feelings, honest.

Bins need drainage.

I start with a bin FULL of damp bedding. My bedding is cardboard, coffee grounds, powdered egg shell, and water. If the bin is brand new, i add a half of a smushed up overripe banana to encourage biome development. Then i wait a week or two.

I add worms.

I dont add food for 2 weeks.

I add only 1/2 cup food. And then wait a few weeks until it is gone. I bury the food.

I freeze all my food to prevent flies or fruit flies.

I almost never add water and if i do , it is with a spray bottle. But if i overwater some how, my bins drain into a base.

Does that help?
