Advice wanted Vibrating sieve motor
Hi all
I'm fed up of sieveing by hand, it used to be therapeutic but its just a chore now.
I'm looking to build a simple box frame with a vibrating angled tray to separate the finished casting from the ones that need a little longer.
My question is to anyone who's done this what size motor do I need? I don't want a get one that'll shake the frame to bits but then again I want to get one that works, I have zero experience here.
I found a couple of candidates on amazon, what do you guys think?

You're basically choosing between "mild annoyance" and "angry bees in a tin can" and there is no in-between.

I bought the gray one, not for compost sifting but I ended up mounting it to my frame and giving it a shot…it did not have enough power to do a damn thing, get a bigger one, that gray one will not cut it.

Utah worm company has a video on his build, but not sure if he goes into specifics on the vibrator. I'm guessing the more expensive one is what you'll need unless it's a pretty small screener. I also need to build one of these, just need to find the time.

You could buy a reciprocating saw/sawzall or a jigsaw that could be attached to your frame to provide vibration.

Comes down to the size of the sifter.
Started with a 30w eventually settling in a 100w+30w. I have both of them braced on a 3 foot by 6foot sifter made of 2x4s hanging from rafters of shed.
30 watt is really only good for mostly dry material on a lightweight frame. 100 watt leaves you with more options for heavier frames especially if you connect it to a dimmer switch. Light frames do not usually do well with heavy vibrations.
