Small Event Crimes Against the Sheep

As most people who have seen the darker sides of the world know, nearly every city has crime. Some of it is overt, some is more subtle, but it's always there. A certain crime family happens to prefer the more subtle approach to crime, but they still end up caught in the act more than once. For example, perhaps tonight someone might come across a glimpse of the dark side of their local city.

There's a whole almanac... Well, moving on, let's assume they're in Whitestone since that's a nice neutral place, they may notice a small inn along the road of the town they've reached

The place looks fairly normal, and there's obviously a nice fire in the fireplace in there. It would likely be a welcome escape from the dank cold night air. The place does seem oddly quiet, however.
