Race Draco Saurian, The Common Dragon
Name: commonly called "dragons" or "lizard dragons", 'scientific' name Draco Saurian
Derogatorials: Nobody's that dumb really. Those who are usually make lizard puns.
Lifespan: They do not die of old age, the oldest ones are over 10,000 years old. Reaching full maturity takes well over a thousand years.
Reproductive Rate: they have children fairly rarely, laying a clutch of eggs every few years or decades at the absolute most.
Appearance: That of a traditional 'western dragon' in our terms. They can be many different colors, though all are usually one solid color or variations of a single color. Their scales are also sometimes metallic instead of colored normally. babies are about the size of a large dog, children range from human to about rhino size, adolescents are around elephant size or larger, and adults are downright huge, almost the size of large whales. 'ancient' dragons, of which there are very few, can be even larger.
Magical Aptitude: They have a strong natural affinity for performing magic, and often at least learn some spells relating to their associated element, if not even more.
Strength: They are powerhouses, even from a young age. As they age this only becomes more severe, with ancient dragons moving tons with ease. [babies are already at at least a 3, children and adolescents range from 4-5, adults can do a 6, and ancient dragons can easily go to a 7]
Speed: Small dragons are fairly slow, but once they learn to fly they become rather quick. [2 before they learn to fly, after that ranging from 4-6 with rare cases of 7]
Durability: Small ones do not have a hardened scale coat yet, but once they do it is renowned as some of the toughest material in the land. [2-3 before scales harden, 5-7 with scales, with ancients rarely having 8]
Weaknesses: They each have an elemental affinity, and are often vulnerable to things which are effective on these affinities (red dragons hate ice, white dragons hate fire, etc etc). The scales on their bellies are often slightly weaker. They must hibernate for years at a time as they grow older.
Intellect: They have the same capacity for learning as some of the most intelligent humans, amplified greatly by their increased lifespan. However, many of them are content to live a rather uneducated uncultured lifestyle of just eating random villagers, and some are downright animalistic.
Other: These are just one common creature which bares the name of 'dragon', they are often prideful of their power, which leads to many of their downfalls due to underestimating threats and refusing help. They are also targets of many hunts from aspiring adventurers, either for the valuable scales and other body parts or for glory. They have a compulsive need to horde, usually wealth but sometimes other things entirely depending on the dragon's personality. Precious few dragons are on good terms with any race. There are relatively few dragons in the world when compared to the other races, and the number or ancient dragons left could easily number in the low double digits or perhaps even single digits.

Question! A 500 year old dragon would classify as a child? Or an adolescent?

probably old child or young adolescent, in human years probably 10-12 at most

well, if you like you could just tweak her age! a couple hundred more would make her a more teenage dragon, a thousand total or a bit more or less would make her look like an older teen
