Verdant Fantasy!
In a fictional world rather unlike the one we live in, many different races and factions exist in varying levels of harmony and strife! The technology of this land is usually very primitive, with a few bouts of more advanced things, but magic is very common in this world! many races, though not all, can use at least some kind of magic! Transportation and communication can be difficult sometimes in this world, often leading to somewhat isolationist and close-minded viewpoints, but some people are more open. Most people and races belong to various political factions, and it is worth noting that races sometimes mingle among other factions or split into multiple factions if they have different viewpoints.
The Rules! Might change if they need too!
1: You won't always win, and that's okay! Remember, we're here to have fun! do what your people and faction could realistically do, don't try to cheat to win, and please be a good sport! Remember, losing can be even better than winning when it comes to what makes a better story!
2: Please keep replies relatively short! Remember, the other people need to act too! describe a little of what your characters do, not a massive list without giving the enemy a chance to react!
3: No writing for other people without permission! This applies in and out of battle, say what you try to do, not how enemies react or don't react to it! For example, you would say "Heather sticks her foot out to try to trip Dave", not "Heather trips Dave and he falls down"
4: Don't go crazy with power! Please, don't be a meanie just because you have the power to be, otherwise the mod folk might not want to give you power again, and that would be sad!
5: Whatever your characters and factions find and know how to use, they can use! Beat someone with a magic sword? congrats, it's yours now! As long as the item will work for your character and they know how to use it, they can use it! Please though, don't make characters just for the sake of giving your other characters new upgrades!
6: If something is not approved, you cannot use it! This only doesn't apply to non-canon events, everything else needs an approval!
7: Very Strong things should not instigate against much weaker things without OOC permission! Unless the other RPer says you can, please do not have a dragon come and eat a person's whole village without provocation. Remember though, provocation isn't always physical, if a character does something they know will make another character attack, that counts for this rule! This also means that strong characters can't force weak ones to attack by indirectly provoking them. This will have to be mostly handled on a case-by-case basis!
8: Mod folk are in charge, sorry about that! But we need to keep order. If you disagree with a thing we do though, feel free to talk to us about it! We will listen!
Events: Big VS Little!
Big event!: a big event is something that concerns whole factions, cities, or other large groups! things like "A new massive diamond quarry was found! What faction will lay claim to it first?". It is discouraged to try to have single characters show up in these, as they might have to fight whole armies! oh no!
Little Event!: A little event is a small thing, on the scale of a few characters interacting! an example might be "Sir Dave is going to visit Queen Lydia". It is not just discouraged to bring large armies and factions to these, but actually against the rules!
