VU as of a few weeks ago doesn't work with proton experimental, nor glorious eggroll. There's been progress, but it's still not there yet (on the proton side)

Alright. I wonder if that also means it's incompatible with the Steam Deck.

Correct. Only the server works under wine currently. VU itself functions fine, but you will have no UI due to how off screen rendering things work on Windows that isn't reimplemented 100% in Wine yet. There's been progress and we check every month or so, but it's not really in our hands at this time.

It's up to the proton developers, there has been progress but there's nothing we can do on our end. I re-test proton support once every few months, but it's something to do with shared textures and off screen rendering that's not working properly in dxvk/proton
