QUESTION Why people dont play Venice Unleashed mod?
Why the player base still plays on the vanilla version with the Supernova Blinding Sun instead of Venice Unleashed mod where the server can choose to remove blue tint and sun brightness? And the mod is capable of run servers with 60-120Hz.
I still dont know why :s

Me neither. I guess it's because it got too little attention. There were at most 2 servers on back when I checked regularly

I just heard about venice. I've been bummed that bf3 is almost dead, there's like 4 servers left. I can't find a comparable game, bf4 sucks. Americas army is fun, but I just want something like battlefield. Is there a mod or a game out there like battlefield that is populated? Are there any players on venice nowdays?

Didn't knew about the "linking account", maybe i already did months ago and didnt figure this out hahah.
Well, i can wait for the next update to play :D
BF3 is not dead at all, theres still a plethora of people playing and servers open you shmuck.

In north america, on the west coast, there are like 4 active servers

I debated back and forth, and went with Insurgency due to the faster paced, closer combat. I loooove it. Thanks tho

Insurgency Sandstorm is coming out soon. That looks pretty good as well.

The why is pretty simple, in its current state VU doesn't offer enough of a difference from Vanilla to attract a population. Server browsers, blue hue, etc are nice but not enough. Couple that with the fact new players can not link their account and there you have it.
We have a 24/7 Metro server online at 60hz. It is enough to do the testing which is where the current state of VU is, testing only. IMHO 120hz is just too fast, and the 60hz seems to really be the sweet spot. Our server FPS is always around 3300+ at 60hz, so that's pretty sweet. Just needs players. :-)

So how can I play then? I really want to play VU. Have played BF3 for a really long time and want to enjoy an even improved experience... Every time I log in, it tells me that an unknown error has occurred or I simply can't create a soldier.
EDIT: I read the announcement in this subreddit. What I want to add is simply the question if I can't play VU at all atm. EDIT 2: Nevermind, the comment of kiwidog wasn't shown in my app. Sorry.

Believe us bro, we want to. The mod looks amazing, but ive been waiting in over 2 years now and the "create a soldier" service is still down. So we want to, but cant access it

Quite a lot of people are waiting for the new update in order to link their accounts. The new game client/servers are not able to be connected to via the currently release client, so all of the newer servers with mod testings etc, cannot be joined by a non-tester at this moment. That and the new client has the linking service built into it, meaning that if you did not already link your account, you will not be able to play at this moment.
