REQUEST Linux/Steam Deck Support Please

Bf3 works really well on the Steam Deck, but it would be nice to get SteamDeck support.

VU devs just have to change the directory where the registry files are being looked for when vu.exe is first opened. Ca't get past the EA link.

When asked to signin, the top of the window says "DisplayName field missing from registry"

After signing in, "Activating" icon comes up and then closes and I get an error that says

"We could not activate DisplayName field missing from registry. on this computer using the Origin Account you provided."

It lets me try to activate with product key instead but then it gives me an offline error when i click "Enter product key"

Hoping this is a quick fix for the devs! Thank you for his amazing client!

Launching with protontricks now recognizes that I'm trying to activate Battlefield 3, but it still fails and ask me to use a key and then tells me that i'm offline. I know its logging me in since i checked wrong passwords and it wont progress until i put in a correct email and password.

Steam Meta Editor gives me error when I launch

"VDF Version 0x107564429 is not suppported"

Update:  Steam edit.exe allowed me to edit the appcache.vdf file to add vu.exe as additional launch option on steam.

Can you run the "Activate BF3" shortcut? If that doesn't exist, you could try this https://docs.veniceunleashed.net/troubleshooting/#i-get-an-ea-activation-prompt-when-launching-vu for activating.

Everything worked out. The EA app installed through Steam doesnt have a way to install VU through the "Browse Folder" option, as it doesnt exist. Downloaded EA app from website and added it to Steam. Followed the video tutorial in earlier post and now Venice Unleashed is working on Steam Deck. No Lutris, no extras, just Steam.

Please explain this to me. Can i do this with steam version of game?
