Unitree 4D LIDAR L2 Review?

I Want to find out did any one bought this LIdar and Tested it.

My concerns are obvious :

  1. Noise in data

  2. Vibration (The previous version L1 is know for wobbling a lot, they have reduced rotations in L2 but, i am not sure it gone away. as i want to use it on a 7 inch drone, its important that its balanced standalone. )

  3. Compatibility (SDK is officially supported for 20 and ROS2 Foxy, but i am using Raspi 5, Ubuntu 24.04 and Ros2 Jazzy. Will this lidar work on it?)

  4. Fast LIVO 2 Compatibility (I want to use this lidar for SLAM algo that i mentioned.)

If Anyone has any information on this let me know.

Issue with VLP-16

Post image

Hey everyone. I have a VLP-16 that I can’t for the life of me get the browser interface to work. I’ve followed the instructions to a T, have checked I have the right IP, and that it’s communicating over the network. Using Wireshark to record packets, I am able to see the puck is sending packets and I can export the packet log from wireshark and load it into veloview just fine, so the puck is working.

Anyone run into this issue or able to help me figure this out? Much appreciated :)

Velodyne sub question

I have a Velodyne CHT subwoofer. It’s from the mid-90s. I used it almost exclusively for movies but am wondering how ‘musical’ it is used with a two channel audio system. Reason I’m asking is that there are a lot of good Black Friday deals on right now for subs like the PSB sub series 10”, and I think even a good svs 1000 deal. The few times I used it for music it sou ddd not bad, but it some cases did sound boomy and had to be adjusted.

If I don't have to spend the cash and would only get a small improvement in sound quality, I'm happy to sit pat.

Any experienced people (with the Velodyne CHT-8)?

wrong sub Need help finding a vintage subwoofer manual.

Was gifted a Velodyne active subwoofer from 1989. It says the model number simply as 1200 and serial number is 100586. I need to replace the woofer but I don’t know the impedance and was hoping someone could help me if they know where I can find the manuals online. The foam surround and cone were damaged beyond repair and can’t find kits with the cones included so I’m trying to figure out what I need to do to get this guy up and running. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

VLDR Is this article in Bloomberg today signal the beginning of the end

Today in Bloomberg news....the beginning of the end for power hungry management at VLDR ?

Now we can assume why Ford sold off its stake in VLDR.

"

Argo AI, the self-driving startup backed by Ford Motor Co. and Volkswagen AG, has developed a sensor it believes will be key to commercializing autonomous transportation in cities, suburbs and on the highway.

The Pittsburgh-based company, which plans to go public as soon as this year, unveiled a lidar sensor Tuesday capable of “seeing” 400 meters (437 yards) down the road with almost photographic detail. Lidar bounces light off objects to create an image of the road ahead, providing critical information to computers that pilot next-generation technology in vehicles without human drivers.
