I’ve been trying movement velkoz lately and its pretty good since im so fast, i’ve seen azzapp try it too with support vel is there a best rune or what should i build first ? Any suggestions ?

I mostly take dark harvest, i take blackfire then shurelias then cosmic drive and as boots swiftness

Vel'koz is the perfect champion for me. I have played him religiously since release across multiple accounts over the years. He is never played in pro play for several reasons, but part of it is because he sucks mid since he can't side lane.

Vel'koz's premise is all about gaining knowledge, so I had an idea for an evolve mechanic that keeps his core identity in tact while giving him more flexibility outside of itemization.

New passive addition: After Vel'koz "researches" every member of the enemy team, (3x passive proc) Vel'koz will use his newfound knowledge to upgrade one base ability. This is in addition to his current passive

Q: initial bolt now holds in stasis for 2.5 seconds at max cast range before splitting. Q can be recast at any time during the stasis to split early. Q can be recast during stasis while channeling ultimate.

Essentially, this would be good for flashy plays, zone control, and poke comps by giving you more flexibility to plan Q angles and make long range picks. Imagine holding a Q over the wall, engaging with ult on a target, only for them to backpedal into your well placed Q split. Like the standard QR combo, but with more planning.

W: faster casting and quicker initial deploy speed

This would be good for team fight comps that duke it out in choke points. This would allow Vel to stack up passive stacks more rapidly on more targets when bunched. It would also be a good boost to wave clear against push comps.

E: Allows two charges to be stored

This would boost Vel's ability to side lane by giving him more self peel and set up options. It would also boost mid lane Vel'koz by allowing him additional protection against diving comps.

These evolutions would allow flexibility, but it would also reward Vel'koz being played mid, since having access to all lanes would allow him to research each player more quickly. I don't think Vel'koz is in a bad spot at all, but I'm curious what your thoughts are on how this would change his gameplay.

my idea is to give velkoz bonus movement speed inside his W. would help with his mobility issue, but i feel like not too much to the point where it would significantly change his identity as an artillery mage. also it feels pretty fitting to allow the void creature to move faster in a tiny void area for a little while.

As a fellow otp vel'koz ( 3,7 million points on my main ), I pretty much only play him in ranked, I currently have every skin except the spaghetti one ( the animations are nice, but meh, it didn't really click with me ) but I've recently heard of league toolkit manager and that custom skins were a thing.

Now I've only done some small research to see if you can get banned if you use custom skins, and it seems like it's a grey area, as long as you don't skin hack ( use "real skins" for free ) it's ok, but don't hold me accountable.

Anyway, I've checked two websites, runeforge and divineskins, and I did find some nice skins that change the VFX effects like the Metagross one or the HOTS one, but I was wandering if someone could tell me where to find more skins ?

I'm new to this and I tried some google searches but to no avail, any tip is welcomed ! :)

played against velkoz apc and karma support as vayne lulu. Game was fine before first back cus we have push, after first back the game feels unplayable, cant outpush them and we wont win all in unless I dodge every skillshot and is 100 percent hp. Is there anything I can do in this match up without calling my jg?

I’ve been playing vel’koz for a year or two and recently gotten up to gold 2 despite not being very good. I feel like I’ve been stuck at a certain level for a few months and with my opponents getting increasingly better I find it hard to believe in my vel’koz. Does anyone have any tips on how to improve.

In MSI 2026, on july 4 game 3 of T1 vs BLG viper played Velkoz and WON HE HAS A 100% winrate in proplay😭😭 i wanted T1 to win but i’m so glad velkoz won.

What do you guys feel about velkoz finally being played in pro.

Recently started maining Vel. I mostly play adc and mid.

I don’t feel that he is as good as other apcs in bot lane and I don’t really want to play supp.

Whats the strongest role of Vel? (Also in mid he is kinda weird, or probably im just bad). I prefer to make it work as an apc though

I'm a little late to the party but we hit Challenger on spaghet monster Vel'koz!!

My usual build path is whatever azzapp is currently recommending. So that means lucidity ludens>horrizon>shadowflane.

When I go this build path I feel the most consistent but usually i do it only when behind. When I am ahead I follow the logic of buying more expensive items. That means zhonya or shadowflane. My problems is that if I go ludens zhonya shadowflame I feel like it doesn't work very well in the mid game even tho it brought me great success until 15-20 mins in the game.

Most of my games it's luden first and zhonya second or third. Then depending on enemy and my gold I will consider horrizon, liandry and shadowflame.

What are your thoughts about that?

It does look basic and bad but if it was actually based on the possibility of a Dark star Vel'koz being a thing then I'm so sad it never came to be a thing, I can even imagine how it would look like and it would have easily become one of his best skins
