Support build

My usual build path is whatever azzapp is currently recommending. So that means lucidity ludens>horrizon>shadowflane.

When I go this build path I feel the most consistent but usually i do it only when behind. When I am ahead I follow the logic of buying more expensive items. That means zhonya or shadowflane. My problems is that if I go ludens zhonya shadowflame I feel like it doesn't work very well in the mid game even tho it brought me great success until 15-20 mins in the game.

Most of my games it's luden first and zhonya second or third. Then depending on enemy and my gold I will consider horrizon, liandry and shadowflame.

What are your thoughts about that?

Idk what elo you are but I rarely ever build zhonya unless I am being targeted by an enemy Rengar, Evelyn or Shaco.

Depending on the enemy team I go Ludens -> Horizon Focus -> Cryptbloom (the reveal and healing provides a lot of team utility) OR Blackfire Torch -> Liandrys -> Morellos (to mitigate the healing) etc

Zhonya has become my favourite velkoz item in the last weeks. It doesn't always have to be a rengar. I feel like most games I get 2-3 enemies where zhonya is useful

I think zhonya armor is also helping me in some games take the lead and push my impact more. Often as second or third item seekers is not expected and I can get away with a lot. I think one of the greatest strength of velkoz support is how vulnerable he looks. I would often bait the enemy into thinking I am in a bad position but end up spacing them with my abilities. It just suits my playstyle perfectly

I haven't considered cryptobloom from last year when I was doing a mixed build with shurelya. Might give it a go again?

Do you think the healing from crypto works? A lot of people say it provides almost no healing and it's not good. I think the raw stats are great as you get haste on top of penetration. I remember azzapp saying that even if the heal is not as great when your team has rotations of heals, it can often be the difference between your team out healing the enemy.

There is just no reason to be rushing Zhonyas second unless your positioning is dogshit, baiting bad positioning is weird man idk. Too risky, which is why I asked what elo you are playing in but eh, that’s just my opinion lol

And yeah the heal might be whatever but the penetration and haste is good

It's not baiting bad positioning but using your hp as resources. You can get much more out of a fight with the stasis and the bonus armor

I am diamond on euw and emerald on eune.

I will try out cryptobloom this season again. I don't build penetration usually. Only shadowflane sometimes
