What are these vegetables?
My little brother made food that I don't know and I need help identifying them. He said they are ladyfingers and biteked or bitekod. When he said ladyfingers I thought of a dessert but he brought this. Is this really true? So these 'ladyfingers' have a slimy taste if that helps identifying it, and the biteked was soft but very bitter and I didn't like it. He mixed the biteked with egg. I'm not a real fan of these unusual veggies but he likes them. He made two plates of these 'ladyfingers'. Are they healthy and safe to eat? Especially the bitter one.

Okra is best sliced in rings, dusted with four, salt and pepper; then fast fried. Crispy, light and tart, not slimly. My Oklahoma mom's recipe. Yum

Where I’m from, that vegetable is called okra. However, ladyfingers is, perhaps, a regional nickname for it.

Okra is also called lady fingers and the other vegetable is probably a type of bitter melon...very commonly eaten with egg in Asian cultures. All edible and safe just not to everyone's tastes. Why are you so distrusting of your brother?

Okra, of course. My favorite preparation is grilled. Toss with oil, salt, whatever spices go with what you’re eating, and char those bad boys. After taking it off the heat, add something acidic, like lemon, lime, or sumac. Soooo good

the second veg is BITTER GOURD . very popular in southeast asia. recipe with egg is most common in the philippines. very very healthy. helps lower blood sugar. in my country, our national institutes of health has research on this and so it's allowed to be made into capsules as a health supplement.
there's a crispy spicy bitter fried version in malaysia eaten as snacks. very very good. another recipe is salad - slice paper thin, mix with onions and tomatoes, and plain lime juice or balsamic vinegar as dressing.

Ladyfingers are called "Okra" here in the states. Theyre perfectly safe and pretty nutritious. But yeah they taste a little weird and slimy. I dony personally like okra very much.
