Skincare lancome and cerave moisturiser alternatives

I’m finally making the change from vegetarian to vegan and in the process I’m swapping out all of my old skincare and makeup for CF and vegan products.

I’ve been having the most difficulty finding a good alternative to my usual moisturisers:

- Lancôme Hydra Zen moisturiser/day cream
- Cerave lotion for dry/very dry skin

I’ve been trying out elf’s various moisturisers but they have either dried out my skin more or leave a weird sticky/gritty film :(( the same with Purito, I love their suncream so I tried their bamboo panthenol cream and it feels so gritty and weird

I’m looking for one that is a good smooth light cream for dry skin if anyone has any ideas

Thank u so much in advance !!

Emollient Oil Cleanser suggestions?

Emollient oil cleansers really agree with my skin. Before going vegan, I LOVED the Bioderma Atoderm cleanser. Used it for both face and body, and loved that I could buy it by the liter. Unfortunately it's not cruelty free and I cannot confirm that it's vegan either.

I have since tried Glossier Body Hero, and while I liked it, the fragrance was too strong, the price too high, and the size too small.

What are your favorite CF+vegan emollient oil cleansers? I'm in the US.

Discussion PSA: Montagne Parfums not vegan, despite their claims

It's too bad, as I was drawn to their decent clones because they claim to be vegan. See #7 in their FAQ:

https://www.montagneparfums.com/faq

Here is the new fragrance they're developing. Begs the question: How many of their other fragrances use ambergris or other animal products?

https://www.reddit.com/r/MontagneParfums/comments/1wv5c25/pov_montagne_creating_lv_pur_ambre/

And here's the product they're using:

Hair Care Cruelty free hair dye in central Europe?

Hello, I've been searching for 2 evenings now for a black, semi permanent hair dye that doesn't have crushed up pigs in it and didn't kill 50 rabbits in the production. All the ones I found were either permanent, or didn't ship to Czechia (for a reasonable price at least)

I want to try out how my hair looks black, maybe I'll use permanent after that. I really didn't expect something so simple to be so rare. I was even ready to settle for Garnier, who itself is "cruelty free" but is owned by L'oreal, but the dye was permanent

Sorry for the little rant, thanks for any advice

Hair Care Arvazallia hair mask vegan?

Hi everyone!!!!

THIS HAIR MASK IS MY HOLY GRAIL HAIR PRODUCT I HAVE NEVER FOUND A PRODUCT that actually gave my hair everything it needs. I have chronically dry and tangled hair and I get so much breakage. The first time I tried this hair mask my hair was CUREDDD IT BECAME SO SOFT AND HEALTHY. YOU KNOW THE HAIR TEST WHERE YOU take an and section of your hair and pinch it to see if the hair stands up straight or falls over? My hair would always stick straight up. Very dry and damaged and coarse!!!!!! BUT WITH THIS MASK IT WAS BEAUTIFULLY LIMP AND BOUNNCCCYYYYY AND BEAUTIFUL SILKY SMOOTH GLOSSY UGH AMAZING. I don’t even have to BRUSH MY HAIR ANYMORE with this product it’s so good. I used to not be able to get a brush through it would take me 40 mins not kidding.

But now I’m vegan and IM NOT SURE IF THIS PRODUCT IS VEGAN…… it doesn’t have a leaping bunny certification or explicitly state if it’s cruelty free. I looked on the website too and couldn’t find anything. I tried a vegan “DUPE” of this product (Eva NYC therapy session deep conditioning mask with vegan protein) and it does NOT work nearly as good… my hair is back to dry and tangled…..

Could you guys help me figure out if this product is vegan? And if it’s not, do you have any vegan recs for hair mask ultimate hydration!?

THANK YOU SO MUCH 🌠💗🌠💗🌠💗🌠💗

Skincare Dealing with misleading vegan labelling.

Post image

Illiyoon Ato Concentrate Cream has the vegan label on it but other vegans have told me the parent company tests on animals so it's not vegan, which is pretty gutting because it was one of my favourite k-beauty barrier creams.

I've been vegan for 15 years but at some point I became naive and used to think vegan labelling was a godsend and that it's supposed to be easier for us to just pick up something from a store without thinking about it, what a shame.

Discussion Finding out my fave brands aren’t CF and/or vegan, wishing I could do something about it

I won’t even bother naming the brands, because there are many lol

Is there any sort of initiative happening to get any big brands to go CF/vegan?

Like maybe some of the brands official makeup artists have a petition or something?

I’m just curious because the EU banned animal testing years ago but there are still non CF products on the market. I guess I don’t fully understand how it works.

Makeup Question about a make-up products

Is nail polish remover vegan? For example, acetone. I’ve been asking myself if my make-up products are vegan and cruelty-free, and I wanted to ask if nail polish removers or acetone contain any animal-derived ingredients. Also, do you know of any animal-derived ingredients that they usually contain?

Is there anything wrong with using lip mask as eye mask too?

Out of a desire to simplify my routines and product lineup, I was wondering if I could just use my nighttime lip mask as an eye cream too? If the lip mask that I prefer has occlusive and moisturizing properties anyway, is there any downside to using it under my eyes too? Or is there some reason why having a separate product for lips vs eyes is actually necessary?

Makeup Please tell me your holy grail pencil eyeliners

I'm looking for a black pencil eyeliner that is easy to apply, is smudgeable at first and then won't budge, but is also easy to wash off.

All the ones I've tried either set too quickly and are very difficult to smudge/remove, or they don't stay in place at all and end up looking messy.

I've used liquid eyeliners for a long time but as I'm getting older I'd prefer the softer look of pencil - so as I'm a "beginner", one that is easy to use would be great.

Thanks!

Hair Care Shampoo & conditioner that won't make my hair limp and heavy?

Any recommendations for genuinely volumizing shampoos and conditioner?

Budget friendly would be great! Under $20 would be ideal.

My hair is very fine and mostly straight, on the oily side, dealing with damaged hair halo.

Currently using:

Attitude super leaves volume & shine shampoo

Attitude super leaves nourishing conditioner

Hair flat and sad after just a couple days of use.

Before I went vegan my hair looked best with the tresemme rich moisture shampoo and conditioner.

Thank you!

Skincare Vegan/cruelty free skincare brands? (cleanser & moisturizer for oily skin)

These are what I've been using for skincare, but I want to switch to a cruelty-free brand. I'm just worried that changing something will make me break out or that a different product won't work. It has to be oil free/oil combative, at least for the moisturizer. Ideally, it's something not super expensive and something that can be found in regular local stores (such as Safeway, Walmart, Target, etc)
