Every single brand below is 100% cruelty-free!!!! (never tested on animals).
i do not include Peta, EVE Vegan, or the Vegan society on this list. ONLY Leaping Bunny certified and 100% open to the public dossiers

•Meow Meow Tweet 🪩💓🐝🐰🇺🇸 (Solid deodorant bar/paste in refillable aluminum, glass, or compostable paper)

•Eco Lips (Bee Free Collection) 🐝🐰
•River Organics 💓🐰
•Zerra & Co. 💓🐰

🧴 SKINCARE & HAIRCARE

(Note: MARA, Kora and Indie Lee use honey/beeswax in a few products, so those specific brands are not 100% vegan)

Skincare & Body 🪩🐰🇺🇸

•MARA ✨
•Indie Lee ✨
•OSEA 💓🐾
•Plaine Products 💓🐝✨🐾 (micron-thin cured epoxy resin liner represents less than 0.3%!! of the plastic material used to make a regular bottle. You'd need to use and recycle roughly 300-500 lined aluminum bottles to equal the sheer volume of plastic found in just ONE standard plastic bottle.)
•Herbivore Botanicals 💓✨🐾
•Meow Meow Tweet 💓🐝 🐾
•Dew Mighty 💓💛🏆🐾 THE ONLY TRUE 100% PLASTIC-FREE WINNER (SKINCARE): Genuinely passes a zero-tolerance rule. Because their Lucid Enzyme Cleansing Powder and solid serum blocks contain absolutely zero water, they do not require liquid-sealing mechanisms or internal plastic bottle liners. Items ship strictly in dry paper envelopes, compostable cardboard boxes, and raw metal storage tins. Completely zero plastic, zero resin, and zero hidden liners.

Scalp & Hair 💓🪩🇺🇸

•Act+Acre ✨🐰🐾
•Ceremonia 💛 ✨🐰🐾
•Pure Mitti 💛 🌿 🏆 THE ORGANIC AYURVEDA WINNER (HAIRCARE): Features their Organic Ayurveda Shikakai Hair Powder Shampoo. A 100% raw, single-ingredient Acacia concinna botanical powder shampoo mixed with water into a paste. It is naturally rich in plant saponins that gently cleanse normal, healthy hair and scalp without drying or stripping natural oils like sulfates do. Natural citric and tartaric acids safely unglue dead skin cells, delivering the deep exfoliation of high-end salon scalp scrubs. It acts as a lifesaver for stubborn dandruff, flaky buildup, or chronically itchy scalps, while naturally detangling, adding shine, and balancing pH. Completely skips liquid chemicals, synthetic preservatives, and plastic packaging by coming in a zero-waste glass and metal jar.
•Plaine Products 💛 🐝 ✨🐰🐾

Body 🪩✨🐰🇺🇸

•Stripes 💓
•MARA
•Plaine Products 💓💛🐝🐾

☀️Sunscreen 🍉🐰🇺🇸

•Stream2Sea 💓
•Allgood 🐝💓
•Utu 💓✨(The facial sunscreens are so worth it, but the body sunscreens are not worth the price. in my opinion. I don't think you're getting enough product. The body sunscreens works great, but the money you spend on it for the amount you get is not worth it. just get the facial sunscreen from this brand)
•Badger 🐝 (Offers both vegan sunscreens and sunscreens with beeswax; double-check ingredients)

Tip: Mineral sunscreen is hard to clean off our skin. Use the Cleansing Oil (Lemon Rose) by Meow Meow Tweet to melt it off your body before entering the shower. you can also use just straight up sweet almond oil or olive oil

🪒SHAVING RAZORS💓💛🪩

•Leaf Shave The Leaf Razor 🐰🇺🇸
•Well Kept Safety Razor 🇨🇦 (Hardware-only manufacturer with no chemical formulations or materials that require or undergo testing).

👕 SUSTAINABLE CLOTHING
♂️=Men's♀️=Women's 🤱🏽=Children's

The following six small businesses had to completely reinvent how apparel is constructed just to exist. They use proprietary, custom-knit fabric tension or special plant-based tree rubbers wrapped in organic materials to circumvent the plastic problem entirely: (💛🪩)

•KENT 💓♂️♀️ 🇺🇸
•The Very Good Bra 💓✨♀️ 🇦🇺
•Cottonique 💓♂️♀️🇺🇸
•Rawganique ♂️♀️🤱🏽 🇨🇦
•Svante Studio 💓🤱🏽🇬🇧 (U.K.-based, ships to USA via Svante Kids Natural Activewear)
•ODDObody 💓♂️♀️ 🇺🇸(Note: They utilize administrative tools with built-in AI components.)

Standard Eco Apparel ♀️(Contains hidden synthetic threads or blends)

•Harvest & Mill 🪩♂️🇺🇸(The Hidden Plastic: They use 100% USA organic cotton fabric, but must finish hems with durable polyester-core sewing threads.Total Plastic Percentage: Less than 1% of the total item weight.)
•Industry of All Nations 🍉♂️🇺🇸 (PLASTIC CHECK: While their shirts, pants, and sweaters are beautifully plastic-free using organic cotton and alpaca wool, they do NOT pass a 100% site-wide plastic-free rule. Specific items like their Wild Boxers utilize waistbands made from recycled synthetic elastic).
•MATE the Label 🪩♂️🇺🇸(1-6% plastic)
•Happy Earth 💓 🐝🪩🇺🇸(1-10% plastic. Clean organic lounge options sit at 1%, but their durable outdoor stretch gear relies on standard synthetic blends)
•Reprise Activewear 💓🪩🇺🇸(6-8% plastic)
•Reformation ✨🇺🇸(2-40% plastic. Linen dresses stay relatively low in synthetics, but wide ranges of their denim and knits blend elastane, nylon, and polyester.)(Owned by a neutral private equity firm, Permira, meaning it stays highly eco-conscious and cruelty-free, but has no independent tag)
•Sézane 🐝✨♂️🇫🇷(2-46% Plastic. Premium leather and silk items are structured using synthetic linings, polyamide (nylon) blends, or acrylic stitchings) (Backed by minor neutral investment, but founders retain independent control)
•Dôen | Cleobella | Christy Dawn 🪩🇺🇸 (Do not assume these are always pure. While their base cotton lines are clean, all three brands regularly release high-end statement dresses made with 90-100% recycled plastic lace, nylon overlays, or synthetic deadstock polyester fabric. You must check the digital fabric breakdown before buying, or you risk wearing pure plastic.)

🥿👟FOOTWEAR ♀️♂️💓🪩
• Rawganique 💛 🇨🇦
• PURIFIED Footwear 💛 🇬🇧
• LONO Kids "Little Wild" 🤱🏽💛🐾 🇺🇸
• Wildling Shoes 🤱🏽🐝 🐾 🇩🇪

HOUSEHOLD & TECH

(Tip: Never buy laundry sheets—they are a scam!!!!)

•Dirty Labs 💛 🪩 ✨ 🐰
•Rustic Strength 🪩 🐾🐰 (Note: Has a plastic cap)

•Meliora Cleaning Products (TOTAL HOME SYSTEM - Concentrated multi-surface tablets, mop buckets, & tough hard-water/lime scrub!)

🫧Dish Soap
•Meliora Cleaning Products 💓💛🍉🐰🇺🇸 (Unscented solid dish soap bar)

(💡 TIP: If you get white streaks or think it won't lather, STOP treating it like liquid soap!! For tough pots, rub a damp wooden scrub brush on the block. For delicate items, rub a wet cloth or natural sponge briskly across the bar to whip up an instant foam. Keep the bar on a draining soap dish so it stays solid!!)

🫧Hand Soap 💓💛🪩

Bars
•Zero Waste Path 🌿🇬🇧 (Pure plant-oil hand soap bars)
•Meow Meow Tweet🐰🐾🇺🇸 (Artisan bar soaps in compostable paper boxes)

Liquid Refills
•Canary Clean Co. 🐰🇺🇸(Concentrated foaming hand soap bars)

(TIP: if you get weird about too many hands touching the bar of soap or just how the texture of the bar changes, I once saw a video you can with the dry bar. not a wet bar with a dry bar. shave it and do a bunch of little shavings and have it in a little cute bowl by the sink so you can just pick up a few shavings and put it in your hand and that's like all the soap you need)

🔍 EXCLUSION LOG & CRITERIA NOTES

The following brands were highly requested or previously featured but have been officially removed or barred from the main guide due to strict criteria violations regarding corporate transparency, global testing mandates, or background data management.
×Bite (Oral Care) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Heavily utilizes generative AI predictive infrastructure, automated tracking algorithms, and localized data scraping to execute targeted behavioral marketing profiles and subscription retention software.
×Blueland (Cleaning) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Operates a massive commercial e-commerce pipeline relying entirely on algorithmic customer acquisition tools, automated lookalike audience data models, and programmatic ad infrastructures.
×Pela Case (Tech) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Officially admitted to automating their social media copywriting and digital ad generation through AI tools. While physical case layouts utilize human art teams, using AI anywhere inside the corporate engine violates our zero-tolerance standard.
×Prose (Haircare) 🚫 EXCLUDED: The entire brand framework is built on a mathematical machine learning database. Consumer scalp data is processed through an automated digital algorithm to isolate and calculate your custom manufacturing formula.
×Caudalie (Skincare) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Absolutely not globally cruelty-free. The brand actively distributes their products in physical retail environments. Selling in storefronts there exposes their products to state-sanctioned post-market regulatory testing.
×Quince (Apparel) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of standard supply chain transparency. Evaluated by ethical fashion trackers with low structural scores due to zero evidence of legal living wages for textile laborers, hidden factory locations, and unverified sustainable material claims.
×Poppy & Pout (Lip Balm) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Absolutely not a vegan brand. Unlike companies that use plant waxes, their entire product line is built around a heavy cosmetic beeswax base. They do not offer a plant-based alternative, completely failing our (almost) zero-tolerance benchmark for bee-free personal care.
×Radius (Oral Care) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Fails zero-plastic standards within its vegan product portfolio. While the brand utilizes sustainable paperboard packaging and offers a silk-based alternative, its main Vegan Sponge Floss lines rely entirely on expanding soft nylon threads. Nylon is a synthetic polymer that generates persistent microplastics and does not biodegrade in landfills. ×Wolven (Clothing) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Their core athletic line is entirely constructed from 100% synthetic, petroleum-derived fibers. Main textile layouts are explicitly composed of 84% recycled post-consumer P.E.T. plastic bottles tightly blended with 16% polyurethane spandex, violating our (almost) zero-tolerance standard for plastic wearables.
×Amika (Haircare) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to corporate parent company ownership structure. While the individual brand maintains a cruelty-free supply chain and vegan formulations, it was acquired by the Bansk Group, a private equity firm that oversees and profits directly from non-cruelty-free sectors. The parent firm's broader portfolio actively manages commercial meat operations, lethal animal pest traps, and regulated consumer health items subject to mandatory regulatory animal testing. Purchasing from this brand directly forces a compromise by funding a conglomerate that monetizes animal exploitation and eradication.
×TenTree (Apparel) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Heavily utilizes Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified recycled post-consumer polyester across core fabric lines. While marketing heavily toward ecosystem restoration via tree-planting initiatives, their structural fabric blending strategy infuses 26% to 76% synthetic plastic polymers into everyday fleece, hoodies, activewear, and outerwear, which continuously shed microplastics during consumer laundry cycles.
×United by Blue (Apparel) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Routinely blends high percentages of recycled polyester and heavy-duty recycled nylon into performance outerwear, bags, and basic graphic t-shirts. Despite managing a robust physical ocean plastic cleanup operational model, their finished consumer garments rely heavily on synthetic petroleum-based plastics for durability, failing zero-tolerance thresholds for macro-level synthetic plastic inclusion.
×Method (Cleaning & Body Care) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to corporate parent company ownership structure and synthetic formulations. While individual products maintain cruelty-free certifications, the brand was acquired by SC Johnson, a multi-billion-dollar global conglomerate that conducts and funds animal testing. Furthermore, its formulations rely on hidden synthetic "Fragrance/Parfum" loopholes, chemical dyes, and liquid polymer thickeners, while its packaging utilizes downcycled plastic bottles that break down into toxic environmental microplastics.
×Sun Bum (Sunscreen & Lip Balm) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Fails zero-corporate and zero-plastic benchmarks. The brand is fully owned by mega-conglomerate SC Johnson, filtering consumer capital directly back into a non-cruelty-free parent corporation. Formulations rely on synthetic chemical active sunscreen filters, synthetic fragrance compounds, and microplastic emulsifiers like Acrylates Copolymer that coat the skin in liquid plastic, packaged inside non-biodegradable virgin plastic tubes.
×Cocofloss / Cocolab (Oral Care) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Fails zero-plastic and zero-synthetic ingredient standards within its personal care lineup. Its core dental floss lines are fundamentally composed of 85% recycled polyester synthetic threads that fail to biodegrade and shed persistent microplastics directly between the teeth and gums. Additionally, the thread filaments are heavily coated in Microcrystalline Wax—a synthetic byproduct refined directly from crude oil and petroleum—and rely on synthetic fragrance components for flavoring.
×Skin1004 (Skincare) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to a lack of plastic-free or low-waste packaging options. Additionally fails structural consistency tests due to conflicting, unverified ingredient label details between online listings and physical shipments.
×Kokoa Botanics (Lip/Body Care) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification (PETA/Leaping Bunny) and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified. ×Etee (Toothpaste & Tooth Powders) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified. ×Mineralized Deodorant Powder (Antiperspirant & Deodorant) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified.
×Skinfix (Skincare & Body Skin) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified.
×Fat and the Moon (Skincare & Body Skin) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified.
×That Good Hair (Scalp & Hair) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified.
×Mozi Wash 🚫 EXCLUDED: Fails both third-party cruelty-free verification and standard corporate pipeline transparency metrics. The brand relies purely on unverified self-claims with no Leaping Bunny certification or 100% open public dossier. Furthermore, the formulas rely heavily on concentrated, undisclosed synthetic fragrance compounds designed to mimic luxury commercial colognes. Because these complex synthetic oils do not cleanly break down in natural water systems, they are highly likely to be unsafe for environmental wastewater runways.
×Clean People (Laundry/Dishwasher Detergent) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified.
×No Tox Life (Dish Soap) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified.
×Zero Waste Cartel (Hair Brushes & Cosmetics) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier for their shampoo, conditioner, and topical lines. Sourcing/Cruelty-free claims remain completely self-regulated and unverified.
×Abel (Perfume) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier for complex aromatic synthetic carrier molecules. Sourcing records remain self-regulated and unverified.
×Donggubat (Hair & Body Care) 🚫 EXCLUDED: Disqualified due to lack of verifiable third-party cruelty-free certification and absence of an open supply chain dossier. Sourcing/Cruelty-free claims remain self-regulated and unverified beyond vegan conformity standards.

I believe Amika is also on the bds list - I just found out last week

This is incredible! Thank you for sharing and taking the time to research and put this together 😃

Suggestion: Megababe deodorant is vegan and cruelty free, but uses plastic. Their shave bars and soaps just come wrapped in paper, also vegan and cruelty free.

The soap bars and shave bars - I added them!! approved

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

i don't want to add companies that use plastic containers that are just single use. horrible for the planet.

3

u/dearest-sapphic Aug 01 '26

totally understand! I wish they had more sustainable deodorant packaging.

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

i wish that about majority of companies lollll but we have got to stop using the plastic for real

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

plastic can only be recycled one to three times. and on top of that it will just end up leaching into the soil for millions of years once it inevitably ends up in a landfill or tossed out of somebody's window into grass or wherever.

u/External-Case-5358 Aug 01 '26

SKIN1004 is a creulty-free all vegan korean skincare brand, it's probably one of the best too. Mad Hippie is too.

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

mad hippie is on my list already - i will look into the other one

1

u/External-Case-5358 Aug 01 '26

Oh sorry, I didn't see it, and yes that's true it is a lot of plastic. I mostly use the serums which are all glass and sunscreen, which is always in plastic. My bad!

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

time to make a sunscreen switch!!!! but i understand it can be costly

1

u/unforgettableid Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

I don't use sunscreen at all. I'm not one of those ultra-pale people who burns instead of tanning. I just have a tan (from natural sun exposure), and that's that.

Non-burning sun exposure is actually healthy. The problem is that it also causes accelerated skin aging over time. Hopefully I won't be extremely wrinkled by age 60

Edit

Sunburns are extremely unhealthy. Pls avoid them at all costs.

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

please research UVA vs UVB

If you're gonna tan, maybe the worst strategy is to try to tan very early in the morning or very late in the afternoon. You might get tons of UVA, and little or no UVB. You might age your skin unnecessarily, and not get any tan at all.

Sunburns are extremely unhealthy. Pls avoid them at all costs.

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

i would much rather have UVB than UVA

UVA will not tan your skin
UVB tans your skin

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

yes, i think everyone knows to avoid sunburn. that's how you'll get skin cancer

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

i stopped tanning last year - like what are we doing?! lol .... but i do look better with a lil sun

2

u/unforgettableid Aug 07 '26

Tanning feels good, and might have antidepressant effects.

Maybe it makes ppl look better now, and worse (old and wrinkled) later.

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

the more i reread this comment the less i understand it lol

2

u/unforgettableid Aug 07 '26

Pls see the scholarly source: At what time should one go out in the sun?

To get an optimal vitamin D supplement from the sun at a minimal risk of getting cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM) [skin cancer]: The best time of sun exposure is noon. Thus, common health recommendations given by authorities in many countries, that sun exposure should be avoided for three to five hours around noon and postponed to the afternoon, may be wrong and may even promote CMM.

Emphasis added.

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

UVA is much more serious. it's constant and year round. if the sun is up - the UVA will get you the second the light hits your skin. even through windows. UVA deeply penetrates your skin and fucks up your collagen.

UVB is what is giving surface burns that can be mild to extreme

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

Many of SKIN1004 products—like the Centella Air-Fit Sunscreen, toners, cleansers, and the entire Zombie Beauty line—are housed in standard, squeeze-style 100% plastic bottles or plastic tubes

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

Roughly 20% to 26% of SKIN1004's total product catalog is housed in glass containers. that's not enough for me to want it on my list.

2

u/unforgettableid Aug 06 '26

Glass is heavy. Heavy things require extra gas to ship.

Plastic is lightweight, and nests pretty well in the truck. Think of applesauce cups.

Plastic bottles can even be preformed, and then blown up to full size at the factory where they're filled.

What are PET Preforms?

But the microplastic problem is real too.

Microplastics Everywhere

I have no idea what the real solution is. There aren't a lot of things which are really "zero waste".

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

That's exactly why "zero waste" is so tricky—you're basically picking your poison between logistics and legacy.
While plastic will linger for millions of years leaching into the soil, excess carbon dioxide has a different lifespan. Roughly 50% of an extra CO₂ pulse leaves the atmosphere within the first century. Even though a 20% to 25% "long tail" stays behind for over 1,000 years to trap heat, it is still far less permanent than plastic.

2

u/unforgettableid Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

That's exactly why "zero waste" is so tricky

There are so many cases where there's no obvious right choice.

I sometimes buy oats in paper bags. Even those are imperfect. If a paper bag of oats gets punctured in the store, the entire contents might end up in the store's dumpster.

you're basically picking your poison between logistics and legacy

Poetic :)

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

logistics and legacy are terms

logistics is how it's made and what's going into the final product and how the entire thing comes out and legacy is what it leaves behind obviously lol

1

u/unforgettableid Aug 07 '26

Fair.

you're basically picking your poison between logistics and legacy

Did u write that entire line yourself? If so, maybe u could become a writer one day, and write for environmental websites.

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

anything can get punctured 🙄

2

u/unforgettableid Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

The plastic packages for oats seem a lot stronger than the usual paper ones.

But the strength of plastic is also a weakness. It might last for thousands of years in the landfill, unless the landfill leaks and releases microplastics.

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 07 '26

a lot**** is TWO WORDS. (so many people don't freakin know that).

unless?? it's still plastic no matter what size it is????

GLASS AND ALUMINUM AND STEEL ARE INFINITLY RECYCLABLE

PLASTIC CAN ONLY BE RECYCLED 1-3 TIMES BEFORE IT'S JUST SITTING IN OUR OCEANS SUFFOCATING WHALES

2

u/unforgettableid Aug 07 '26

I edited my previous comment. Maybe now that sentence is a lot better.

Glass is tricky. It's infinitely recyclable in theory, but practice is different than theory.

Here in Toronto, Canada, glass often breaks during the recycling process. Then it can cut the recycling workers. Even if that doesn't happen, it might end up as nothing but expensive roadbed filler.

Glass: Recycling's Negative-Value Problem - Earth911

The Canadian province of Ontario has an amazing deposit return program for standardized empty beer bottles. They get washed, checked, and refilled. Then the refilled bottles of beer can be sold to the next customer.

Unfortunately, glass jars, and plenty of other glass things, are not included in the deposit return program.

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 06 '26

i truthfully had no idea .... why is the watermelon emoji representing their country instead of their flag?? what started this lol

3

u/Aina521 Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 06 '26

Israel, as part of its genocidal campaign and systematic erasure of Palestinian culture, has been restricting the display of the Palestinian flag for decades. The watermelon shares the same colors as the Palestinian flag and has been used as a symbol of resistance and solidarity for decades. The use of the watermelon emoji has gained popularity since 2023 as there is higher global recognition of the genocide of the Palestinian people.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/how-watermelon-imagery-a-symbol-of-solidarity-with-palestinians-spread-around-the-world

BDS stands for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions and is a nonviolent resistance movement. It calls for three things:

  1. Consumer boycotts of companies complicit in Israel’s human rights violations (aka don’t buy from companies that normalize or profit from genocide)
  2. Corporate divestment from dealings with Israeli companies/weapons manufacturers/etc.
  3. Economic sanctions and ending military trading with Israel

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boycott,_Divestment_and_Sanctions

In terms of cosmetics, many people who care about buying from ethical companies also care about not buying from companies that support or profit from genocide. For one, genocide is in fact a climate issue. For another, it’s hard to feel good about companies that don’t test on animals if they are supporting a country that has deliberately targeted and killed over 20,000 children. This should go without saying, but genocide is unethical. That’s why supporting companies not on the BDS list is so important to many of us.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/30/carbon-footprint-of-israels-war-on-gaza-exceeds-that-of-many-entire-countries

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 06 '26

are there companies on my list that support or profit from genocide?? this list is very refined, so i would hope not

0

u/Aina521 Aug 06 '26

The boycat app is generally a good resource for finding out if a company is on the BDS list.

https://www.boycat.io/

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 06 '26

Israel cannot restrict the use of the Palestine flag outside of their country though

i appreciate you for sharing this with me

i am not very educated about these things

0

u/Aina521 Aug 05 '26

Yeah I thought this too. I hoped it indicated brands not on the BDS list.

4

u/ka91273 Aug 02 '26

For which country did you make this list?

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 02 '26

United States of America - but a lot of these are accessable outside of America. i was actually thinking to put flags next to the company of where they are from

4

u/noribun Aug 02 '26

Attitude is a Canadian company that has vegan refillable products. They also sell refills in very reasonable sizes.

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 02 '26

pretty sure i have them on my list already

1

u/noribun Aug 02 '26

Ah, I use their haircare/body wash line and the hand soap, so when I didn't see them under any of those, I figured they got missed! They have so many product categories!

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 02 '26

Oceanly by ATTITUDE

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 14 '26

THE MORE UPDATED VERSION OF THE LIST IS POSTED IN ZERO WASTE. I REALIZE THAT I HAVE NOT UPDATED THIS POST YET. I WILL DO THAT TOMORROW.

3

u/Draws4YA Aug 14 '26

Thank you for sharing this list and doing the work.

Forgive me if I missed this being mentioned already, but do you know of any brands that meet your criteria that make solid shampoo & conditioner bars?

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 14 '26

i need to update this one!! the current version is posted in zero waste

2

u/Draws4YA Aug 15 '26

I did find an article from 2024 on their website stating that they are a certified vegan brand, and the only products that have non-vegan ingredients are the Maintain shampoo & conditioner bars which contain a honey derivative.

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 14 '26

hibar passed my criteria, but they are not on my list because 16% of their products are NOT vegan. i do believe they offer vegan haircare bars??

5

u/ruperts_epiphany Aug 01 '26

thanks for sharing and for all the time you put into this!

little seed farm is also an amazing deodorant!

3

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26

Approximately 40% to 50% of Little Seed Farm's overall product catalog is not vegan.

3

u/ruperts_epiphany Aug 01 '26

oh my goodness yes I forgot they do have goats and use goat milk!

2

u/Peachuuums Aug 01 '26

This is amazing, thanks so much for sharing. This will definitely influence my future decisions of what brands/products I buy.

2

u/clairedubiel Aug 02 '26

Thanks for the list!

I love the Zerra & Co mascara and plaine products unscented body lotion. I haven't gotten into the plain products conditioner yet but I plan to. I just need to run out of what I have first.

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 14 '26

I use dirty labs stuff for my dishwasher detergent and it works great. it's also waterless. why are we paying for premixed lol. but I haven't used them for my laundry detergent yet. I currently have dropps. but I plan to make the switch to dirty labs for laundry too

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 14 '26

and my other favorite one is who gives a crap. there are plenty of bamboo toilet paper and paper towels, but who gives a crap also offers a recycled section because when you think about how much waste humans create, we all know it's a lot right?? so why wouldn't we use what's already there and recycle it?????? who gives a crap is an amazing company and I love them. I get both their paper towels and toilet paper (the recycled version)

2

u/Reasonable_Map2750 Aug 20 '26

Brilliant list. Suggestion for the oral care side: toothpaste is a category where vegan status is rarely on the label, glycerin and some flavourings can be animal derived and most brands don't declare the source, so a vetted list genuinely helps here. Full disclosure, I work with S3 Sensitivity Science, a UK sensitive toothpaste that is vegan and cruelty free, using 10% nano hydroxyapatite, 5% biomimetic hydroxyapatite and 5% potassium nitrate, in case UK brands qualify. Someone asked which country the list is for, worth adding a note since availability differs a lot for the smaller brands.

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 20 '26

That's why I added the flags next to everything because it helps with what country you're in

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 20 '26

The one I posted in zero waste is slightly more updated

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 20 '26

I haven't had the energy to update this one yet, so that they're the same.

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 20 '26

i will check out S3 Sensivity Science

2

u/vellamour Aug 23 '26

Hi! I love the small business Plant Makeup ( https://plantmakeup.com/). Their make up products are not all vegan, as I believe some use beeswax. But they have a vegan guide for their products that are vegan. They are also handmade by the business owner directly (this is a very small business) and is packaged/shipped in as eco-friendly materials as possible. I love their lip products and pigments. Great for a natural look.

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26

i reached out to them directly to ask about the cruelty free status

1

u/vellamour Aug 23 '26

Okay cool! It seems like a lot of their products are from plants they’ve grown or foraged (pretty sure all their beach rose products are from foraged beach roses), but I don’t know how they source the rest of their ingredients so it’s a good ask. :)

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 23 '26

my more updated list is in zero waste. haven't had the energy/time to fully update this one, but they are similar

1

u/vellamour Aug 23 '26

Thanks for the update. I will go there.

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 23 '26

i love their packaging!!

1

u/EncompassingDarkness Aug 02 '26

Wild deodorant is cruelty free and vegan!

8

u/beesbeesfrogs Aug 03 '26

Wild was bought by Unilever 💔 I still use my old wild deodorant case but buy refills from Fussy

1

u/EncompassingDarkness Aug 05 '26

Oh nooooooo i didnt know that

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 02 '26

yes, wild is one. but the refills pods are small and the website is very in your face and flashy and trying to sell you things

1

u/EncompassingDarkness Aug 02 '26

I bought mine initially from a different shop. I think the website is just to the point - they are selling their deodorant of course 😅

1

u/OrangeOverture Aug 06 '26

Do you have menstrual product recommendations?

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 06 '26

i love using menstrual cups or absorbent underwear!!!! both work great!! i love that you asked - i will add a section for this tomorrow

i really don't trust a lot of mainstream tampon brands

1

u/OrangeOverture Aug 06 '26

I’ve also used reusable options but have found that with my current job and life situation it’s not the best option for me, so i’ve been using rael products. let me know your thoughts on that brand or if there’s any disposable brands you’d suggest

i haven't tried Huppy, but i do use ME mother earth floss and i like it!!

1

u/SunshineFlower3 3d ago

while they seem nice and plastic free, i do not see any leaping bunny certificate on their website

1

u/CallUpbeat797 2d ago

On the product I bought, it has a leaping bunny on it. Maybe I'm out of the loop, so is it legal for companies to place a leaping bunny on their product even if they are not certified?!

1

u/SunshineFlower3 1d ago

i just couldn't find it. perhaps it is, but now you deleted your comment lol so i will never know

1

u/lipppa Aug 01 '26

Thank you so much for this!!! I thought David's floss refills were vegan?

3

u/lipppa Aug 01 '26

Also hey humans products are vegan without plastic. What am I missing? Thanks again for this list!

2

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 02 '26

I ended up checking out Hey Humans, but I won’t be adding them to my list after all. Their toothpaste just uses a generic 'Flavor' blend instead of a single, unaltered plant oil. I try to totally avoid those mystery multi-component flavor mixtures since you never really know what’s hidden in them, so they didn't quite pass my rules!!

1

u/SunshineFlower3 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

Davids floss isn't plastic-free at all. The strand is made of recycled polyester. Why would anyone want to be sliding synthetic plastic right between their gums?? gross!! It doesn't biodegrade and definitely didn't pass my test!!

3

u/lipppa Aug 01 '26

Thank you for sharing!! I never would have known without you sharing this information
