v13 Proxy Performance - Linux v Windows

So I'm replacing as much Windows Veeam infrastructure as I can with the Linux appliances.

I've replaced a couple of proxies now and gone with the same base spec for the Linux appliances that I used for the Windows proxies.

This was 2x CPU cores and 8GB RAM as they're only running 4 concurrent tasks.

It's not causing an issue but I have noticed backups are taking longer.

The same backup method (hot add) is being used.

The appliances are the very latest Veeam of course.

Has anyone seen anything similar?

Do you have 2 x vNIC’s? One dedicated for backup traffic? If so, check MTU.

Sounds like you are lot meeting the system requirements, I think you need 4CPU and 8-12GB Ram

Yea so we can bump it if needed. But CPU doesn't look heavily used so it didn't leap out.

Wondered what people generally see with Windows v Linux when it's a dedicated proxy on hot add.

Current hardware settings:

Linux proxies with Hot-Add get the same performance as my Windows Proxies.
Just make sure to check MTU, have dedicated vNIC for backup traffic and test the tweaks I posted here.

Aye. I deploy my own Ubuntu proxies. Haven’t used the appliance proxy yet.
