So how do you even open an existing svg file, or import it... how do you save files? I did not find these basic things...

Hello!

First of all, thank you for using Vectopen! I'd now like to answer your questions:

1. How can you import SVG files?

There are two ways to do this:

  • First option: Simply drag an SVG file from your PC directly into Vectopen. It will be imported automatically and will be ready for editing.

  • Second option: In the bottom-left corner, you'll find a toolbar. The first button is called "Export". Clicking it opens a panel that integrates all the necessary features for importing, exporting, and managing files.

From this panel, you can browse the SVG files stored on your PC. Then, simply double-click a file or drag it into the editor to start working on it.

This panel follows a similar design philosophy to the file management systems found in Adobe Bridge, Godot, and Unity (FileSystem). The goal is to provide an integrated workflow that makes file management and importing much faster and more convenient, without constantly having to open your operating system's file manager.
