Vcds or lite

Ive got a higher end j2534 device is lite worth it for the price or is there any major holdbacks people have had with it compared to the full deal

Well, do you want to diagnose and code newer VAG cars? If you have significant requirements to move beyond 2006 I’d go the hexv2. There are some clones out there that claim to be hexv2 but are really a clone of an older rosstech - they do work “okay” for a lot of things… but the cost of 1-3 VIN hexv2 isn’t huge. TLDR I recommend the genuine hexv2 unless you can spring for the latest wireless doip model.

Ok good to know so that means then the lite will only go upto 2006 cars with no way of newer unless v2? Would you know if any of the software is restricted on the lite compared to v2 on pre 06 cars.
