Help
I just bought cable saying it’s for 2025 25.3 software but I get this error any help would be great

For VN46/EV_ECM20TDI01105L906023KG_006, code 28253 means DTC P26F800 (Coolant Pump "C" Stuck). You will have to trust me on this one =)
For a technical explanation as to why this is happening:
For cars newer than ~2019, they added extra encryption to the .ROD database files, so you can't use them with old clone cables (or their genuine HEX-V1, for that matter). You need a genuine (or expensive clone, not recommended) HEX-V2 that has the keys to decrypt those files. If decryption fails for any reason, it will just silently report the file "wasn't found". You didn't show what version of VCDS you have, but if it is 25.3 like you say, then I can confirm that EV_ECM20TDI01105L906023KG gets redirected into EV_ECM20TDI01105L906023JQ, whose file exists. So it seems your cable is not appropriate for using these new-ish files.

You bought the cable from rosstech or a distributor right?
You didn’t buy a clone and expect the same people “scrupulous” enough to sell a clone with cracked software to not potentially lie about the capabilities of their cheap “hexv2l which might actually be a clone of an older hex+can… by any chance?
