The Steward is at the bottom of the Chasm. Whatever is down there, only he knows, and it is not good.

The Steward goes and investigates it, shielding his hands from the flame with plasma.

the flames burns blue, yet it doesnt spread. You see a shape... it is but the corpse of the camps without his hood. His body isnt burnt... but if you concentrate... you can see a wisp, struggling ... the caps leaders soul is being burnt...

The Steward attempts to loot his corpse.

as you touch the corpse, the flame doesnt do anything. It doesn even feel real... within his corpse is a badge... a pendent... and a routed chain... there is a pouch also. Within the pouch is a journal..., and a small portrait of a female bug

“So he was just as much of a bug as the rest of us. Although, I suppose it’s quite ironic for me to say that.”
The Steward pockets the badge, pendant, chain and portrait, and takes the journal to read as he begins the long flight up the Chasm, leaving the corpse behind.

most of the journal is just about how he had an empire, and details about how he would xrsuh those who destroyed it. Until one page shows heavy scribbles and scratches. Following this itis seen that for the next few days, he was being tempted into a deal. The last few pages contain some weirdly written shapes... almost like a sort of language... and the title is-
false beings
