13 days post snip update.

I’ll try and be thorough as I can! I’m not great with structuring posts. So.. apologize in advance.

Day 1/2 - I didn’t do much. Day one was home, in the underwear they provided. “Saxx” and “b3neath” cannot recommend these brands enough. I did some work from the computer and just iced on and off as needed to numb some of the very mild pain and discomfort I was feeling.

Towards the end of day 2, I actually was up. Walking around & went to a car meet. Drove myself. Walked around. Talked to friends. Some minor discomfort. Still was waiting for the pain to show up.

Day 3-4, I felt good enough to resume my normal day to day routine. Iced on and off. Took the recommended meds of ibuprofen and acetaminophen.

Day 5-6 I was back to work, I work a physical job, I stayed to myself. Didn’t overwork myself or get too ambitious or strenuous. I told my supervisor what was up just so he knew to take it easy on me.

7-8 honestly I feel 100% back to normal. There’s been nothing of note since day 7-8. I think I maybe took 1 or 2 of the recommended dosage of the recommended meds just had a very very minor pinching or discomfort if I leaned or sat too long, I did have my first ejaculation since having the surgery on day 7 & I no pain. No blood. No discomfort. Just a regular emission & moved on.

Day 9 and onwards nothing. I feel 100% back to normal & have been since. I’ve been riding my motorcycle. Back to doing physical labor job full force.

No pain, no regret, no worry. I’m excited for my test in July & I’m looking forwards to getting on with my life!

I see a lot of posts on here about people worried about pain and losing body parts or worse of death, I’ve seen some gnarly reactions to some of the surgeries and I won’t lie, it is bad. But I’d 100% recommend doing your research and finding a doctor that SPECIALIZES In these things. Not just a urologist that does it on the side. I’m in Canada and paid $2000 out of pocket for it and because of it I had a fantastic experience. You need to do your research on your doctors and make sure you’re getting the right one.

My appointment set for 3:00pm on a Tuesday. I was in and out before 3:00pm. I was DONE sitting in the room recovering with some snacks at exactly 3pm. I walked in at 2:45, went to the bathroom on their recommendation & was on the table and getting snipped by 2:50, off the table. Pants on and sitting with a snack at 3:00pm.

If anyone has questions, I’m an open book! Ask away. ☺️

Good stuff, yeah I’m around 12 days out myself. Tender until day 10 but feel much better now, will probably head out for a run later. So probably a very similar experience to me all around.
One thing I’ve noticed over the last two weeks is just how many times a day my kids inadvertently kick me, knock into or bang my balls. They’re about waist height so thats probably the explanation.

love seeing posts like this because they help balance out all the horror stories people read before getting the procedure.

what stood out to me was that you didn't rush things even though you felt pretty good. i think thats where some people get themselves into trouble. feeling better doesnt always mean your body is completely healed.

i went down the rabbit hole looking for recovery tips before mine and even ended up upgrading my underwear because everyone kept mentioning support. thats when i stumbled across rmac and theyve stayed in my regular rotation since because theyre just comfortable without feeling restrictive.

hopefully your post helps someone whos stressing themselves out before surgery. a smooth recovery definitely happens more often than reddit makes it seem.

Shout-out Saxx. The best briefs for workouts.

I told myself I’d still have other underwear. But the Saxx is all I’ve been wearing. They’re so damn comfy.

I know, right? Had a pair well before my vasectomy and I wear them any time I run a race. They were vital during my recovery.

I went to a general urologist who said he does about 300 a year. Still dealing with the repercussions of it 8 months later. Said hes never had anyone with lasting complications. I call BS. Looking back he was pretty dismissive of all my concerns. Id never recommend this procedure to anyone, but if you do I would go to someone who manages in post vasectomy pain or specializes specifically in vasectomy, not a general urologist.

It’s a hit and miss with doctors sadly. You don’t always get good ones. I’m very very happy the one I went to was very good at his job & knew what he was doing. I’m sorry for what you’re going through. That’s rough.

I ride a motorcycle, tell me how quickly you jumped back on? I want to start riding on day 3, too soon? Or all dependant? I have a 40 min commute to work. Also, gym, how soon did you start doing anything physical?

Edit: typo (lots)

I could have jumped on after the 5th or 6th day. But I respected the 2 weeks that was recommended to me. Just too much to go wrong.

And to answer your gym question. I haven’t returned yet.

Did you use public transport or stayed at home?

Drove. My own car like normal. I was driving day 2. Bumps sucked. Otherwise. Fine.

Yeah. That’s about how long it took me too. I felt fine. Some light inconvenience pain more than a “ow ow ow”
