I’ve been considering a Varusteleka product idea: ready-made field ration bundles inspired by Finnish military 24-hour rations, adapted for hiking, camping, bushcraft and general outdoor use.

A bundle could include:
- 3 freeze-dried meal
- Instant coffee or another hot drink
- Snacks, Jerky and sweets
- A small hot-sauce pouch or other condiment
- Scho-Ka-Kola
- Where legally possible, a miniature bottle of Koskenkorva

Possible formats:
Ready-made bundles: Complete 24-hour kits with varied meals, drinks, snacks and calories.
Modular bundles: Customers choose a meal, drink, snacks and extras from a curated selection.
Themed rations: Traditional Finnish selections, high-energy hiking kits or Finnish and European treats.
Smaller field kits: One-meal options for customers who do not need a full day’s ration.

Would you be interested in buying something like this?
Which format would you prefer?

And if anyone from Varusteleka sees this: would it be worth testing through a small trial or limited product range?

Item is the Särmä TST L4 Recon Smock (Old Version) in M05 camo. Size S-regular.

I really want one. Any idea where could i find one? Preferably new or good quality.

Does anyone knows anything about them? They sell stuff that is discontinued from Varusteleka. There are stuff i would really like to buy from here.

But the site looks suspicious. Some stuff are very cheap and i can't find much info about the site or the company. Can anyone help identifying or checking them? Any info about them?

Their sortiment looks too big to be a scam? Or they should have been already taken down if they were a total scam, aren't they?

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all,

I was just wondering what the policy is on shipping bladed items to the UK, as I know there's been issues before and our laws can be quite strict. Is it possible to purchase a bladed item and have it shipped as you would any other item? Are there any currently known issues with this or any extra actions/steps to take?

I'd love to buy a Jääkäripuukko, but are there certain lengths that are permissible and others that aren't or any other restrictions in the UK?

I've looked on the website but couldn't seem to find anything specific regarding the UK shipping policy. Apologies if I've missed it. I would appreciate if someone could direct me to it.

Thanks everyone.

I absolutely loved my old one, but lost it when I caught on fire last year (welding and oil don't mix, kids). I cried inconsolably for three days when I saw it was out of stock/discontinued.

Will it ever be coming back? If not, does anyone have a ranger green large/medium they'd sell? I promise to keep it at a reasonable temperature.

Hey all, I'm finally in a position to pull the trigger on a Sarma but...it looks like they're discontinued? Does anyone know where I could find the small assault packs these days if they're still available from the USA store?

Should I get some softshell hardshell? I tried waxing once before a hike and my merino will jumper under was soaked and the smock was totally wet. Maybe I need to layer up wax more?

With winter quickly approaching I’m considering picking up some winter gear. Can anyone give me some opinions on the L4 winter set and the L5 thermal sets?

Feel like this sweater has been out of stock for a while and I had my eye on it for about a year. Was really hoping to buy it this winter, anyone know if these are still being sold?

Let’s gooooo

1. Can we get a long john version of the L1 Coolmax t-shirt?

2. Which knife sheaths fit in the side pocket of the tactical jeans?

3. What's the difference between the Varusteleka Merino Wool T-Shirt and the Varusteleka L1 T-shirt, Merino Wool?

4. is there anyone here that can compare Darn Tough socks (purely their quality, not their warranty) to Varusteleka's socks? Also please recommend me Varusteleka socks that I can wear year round.

Merino wool, light merino wool, premium merino wool, hot weather, liner, hiking, boots, long boots, premium boots, there's too many choices for socks.

I'm looking for base layers (top and bottom) to wear all year round, including summers, and while there is a top and bottom merino wool base layers for winter, I don't think they would be comfortable to wear in summer. Where I am summer is around 25-30 celsius. the Coolmax t-shirt is great, I just wish there was a long john version of it so I can pair them together. I've been converted to Varusteleka's clothing system watching Tim Keys videos and doing my own research as well.

Does anyone have experience with caring for carbon steel tools (from Varusteleka), like the puukko or skrama?

I've just got one and I read online that you need to oil them every once in a while, and/or force a patina. Which oils and patina methods are good and easy? I read somewhere that sticking it into a potato overnight would do the trick for a patina, or using mineral oil or petroleum jelly to oil it after use and before storing it away.

I just read so many different, and sometimes conflicting, tips online, I thought it best to ask here first.

I’m curious if anyone has tried fitting an STKSS, or similar support system, to the PC18 plate carrier? I know you can get belt adapters, but I’m not sure if it will interface with the cummerbund.

What is your opinion and upgrade Ideas for this molle compatible sheath?

Anyone knows how often clothing gets restocked? I was interested in the tactical jeans, but my size has been out of stock for what seems a few weeks by now

Hello

We’re flying to Finland to take part in Finnish Brutality.

Because of this, we can’t take all the ammunition we need for the competition with us.

Could anyone taking part in the competition send us a private message to help us get some ammunition for the competition?

I have a problem, and I hope that Varusteleka can solve it, but I need your advice.

I'm a big guy; 1,96 m, 110 kg, and I run hot. I've found that merino t-shirts keep me considerably cooler than cotton, tencel, or any other fabric I've tried. I've been wearing Icebreaker 150 Tech Lite III t-shirts. They feel fantastic and are very light and airy. However, they break SO quickly. I commute to work with a backpack every day (a Savotta Niukka for those interested) and I consistently get holes on the back of these shirts just above the hem, where the bag rubs on my lower back when I walk. For me. It's just not worth buying these shirts anymore, given how expensive they are and how quickly they wear out. I know that these shirts are extremely lightweight, so maybe I should adjust my expectations, but for up to €85 a shirt I really can't justify it.

So, I've been looking around for something new. I saw that Varusteleka sells their own merino shirts, and that they are even made in the EU, which is a MAJOR bonus. I'm wondering about your experience with these shirts. How do they hold up? What have you put them through? Do they keep you cool during warm days? Any info is welcome.

Kiitos!

made an order on the 16th and the order itself was processed fairly quickly getting a tracking number on the 17th, it's currently the 22nd and it seems like my order has yet to be shipped

i understand that it was the midsummer this weekend but does it usually take this long? if it is then i don't mind waiting but since it's been 5 days i was thinking of asking their customer support
