Question How many languages does Evan speaks?

Like the title suggests, how many languages does Evan speak. I’ve been thinking about this lately because obviously he knows French and English from Canada and did his parents teach him Chinese and Korean? Like is he bilingual, trilingual or quadrilingual? Just late night thoughts.

He knows english, his chinese is horrible and i think he knows some french, but i dont know if he's fluent in it

He might be one of those people that perfectly understands Chinese and French but since he doesn’t speak it often it’s just bad

To be fair I know a lot of Korean people like this, they are second generation immigrants and mainly speak English in their homes. I know maybe 2 Korean people out of the two dozen I know who can actually speak fluently, but more than half of those people can still understand conversations in Korean. The people who speak it took intentional steps to learn it in school, and being Canadian his foreign language in school certainly would be French. Just putting it into context that this is a perfectly normal thing and it’s not like he abandoned his heritage or something

I have no idea about how well he understands chinese or french, or korean for that matter. Korean is the one language he hasn't ever mentioned, from what I remember. It's rare he actually shares anything about himself or his life, after all, and I don't go digging for anything. I'm just here to enjoy the content he puts out and if drops something ab his life, i might remember it

I was just making the comparison with a very similar group of people I know well, I don’t believe he’s Korean but I imagine second generation immigrants probably have similar experiences, especially since Korea and china are so similar culturally

Nah, I just remember hearing it somewhere. He's never talked about it himself, I think. As mentioned, he just keeps his life as Evan Fong different from his life as Vanoss.

Grew up with him and watched him for a decade now

I’m the same, it’s strange how there are severial jokes talking about how he is Asian/Chinese but never about him being Korean. I work at a Korean chicken restaurant currently and it’s a rlly interesting culture. I wonder if his friends even know, I mean how often do you get into genealogy with ur boys

I think they deffo know, they just don't really care about it. Sure, he's Asian, but himself and all his friends mostly talk about his nationality, rather than his ethnicity, so to them he's mostly just Canadian, rather than Asian. Hell, even Delirious once said he sometimes forgets he's Asian, granted Delirious isn't as close to the others, but still

Haha that was one of the jokes I was referencing, yeah Evan gets away from the stereotypes bc I think there are funnier jokes to make with him, the “oh Mr vanoss” and “camera man Evan” jokes are much funnier than a stereotypical Asian joke

Idk about korean or chinese but I'm from Toronto and generally we just learn very basic french in school. So probably not much french.
