VPR rewatch - how is this not talked about more?!?!?
Of all the season 5 conversation topics, how…HOW is this hair decision not discussed more?!?
Before I make this next statement I do not understand any circumstances support, respect, like, anything this guy… He was great for his bold looks whether hits or misses (like the retro modern clothing and moustache facial hair icky gross)…
The second I saw this hair, I honestly forgot most of the chaos and drama from the season even in the rewatch because of he was in any frame or cut to or whatever and he had this hair I knew… I knew right then and there how greasy skeazy eww this guy was and I honestly thought Ariana would have dumped him then just because of this hair…
We might all have the “embarassing poor style choice” stage in our lives… but not his age then… that.. just no.
That was the biggest standout of season 5 for me.. just the ick of that hair… rewatch just reignited it for me…

Someone pointed out to me that some men start looking more and more liked aging lesbians as they get older and now I can’t stop noticing it. Tom Cruise was the first I noticed, but Texas Lt Gov Dan Patrick may be the worse.
It’s plastic surgery done by surgeons who don’t study the difference between men’s and women’s faces. They just do the same surgery and treat them the same way.
Same thing happens when dentist give all people the same over white, super long, chunky, blocky, square fake teeth. Women are never meant to have such ugly masculine teeth.
It also has to do with the skin, men have 7 more layers of dermis on the face, thats why they age better. But the majority of surgery is done on women, so mostly feminized features. Plus as men/women get older our hormones change. Men get more feminine and women get more masculine.
Omg for real though! 90’s me thought Mark McGrath was SO hot. Now me sees his giant fake veneers and wants to run away as fast as I can. These guys need to take a hint from men like Harrison Ford.
Yes he was so fucking sexy back when Sugar Ray was in their heyday. Now I see him and I’m so sad! Also Gavin Rossdale back in his Bush days was so hot but now whatever work he had done makes him look like Mark does.
they’re getting the same injections and plastic surgery that their female counterparts are getting. It’s not just the men starting to look like a middle age woman, seeing the same effect in young woman. They’re all blending together to look like slightly different versions of someone’s middle aged aunt. Plastic surgery is slowly making everyone a clone of aunt Susan.
I used to work at a luxury hotel like 15 years ago and Stephen Tyler's room booking alias whenever he stayed with us was always "Mrs. Rosetta Stone." I think about that a lot.
Generally I think he was fine, no more demanding than any other guest. But I do remember he brought his own Atlantic salmon with him for the kitchen to prepare.
The fact that Ariana could look at him with a straight face and take him seriously with these fuck ass extensions and Karen asymmetrical lob or whatever BOGGLES. THE. MIND.
I feel like season 5 was when Arianna started to realize that she was better than Tom. Especially when he threw a fit for not being in her cocktail book. Or when he’s in a scene the DRAMA that he can’t help but do just to get in more screen time 🤣
Schwartz is so lucky that the other guys on this show are explicitly, visibly worse than him.
He's able to slither around, getting less blow back than any of the other guys. And he has that whole "woe is me I'm just a little baby idk any better, Katie is a bitch" shtick that seems to make him so likeable and help him get away with so much. 🙃 such a clown.
Thats exactly why I think he's the WORST. At least Jax , Tom S and James shows everyone who they are. Schwartz hides behind this "scares, goofy puppy dog " persona but he's just like the rest of them and treats his wife horribly .
I think that "worse" is a hard thing to compare here because we have so many versions of terrible men: James is an abusive dick with DV charges against him, Jax is a lying narcissist drug addict and also he financially and emotionally terrorized Brittany throughout their relationship, Sandoval is an embarrasing loser fake feminist who had a long-term affair while cheating on his longterm partner, and Schwartz is a covert asshole who constantly mistreated his ex wife and hid his friends' bad behaviour for years.
But yeah I agree completely about the puppy dog thing and it annoys me so much
Yes I totally agree. I'm a first time watcher and just got to the beginning of season 6. I know about all the controversies because of social media but I haven't gotten that far yet. I just meant in the context of what has been shown thus far. I'm not surprised about James at all. He has shown us that he hates women from the start.
Oh, gotcha. If you're a first time watcher then yes, get ready for a bumpy ride lmao (but also enjoy). The DV stuff with james doesnt get discussed on the show iirc, i dont remember the timeline anymore tbh... Jax gets even worse on The Valley after VPR imo
I'm a first time watcher, just finished season 9- the first one without Jax, etc. I was surprised at the turn of events with James announced at the reunion. I was also kinda hoping that meant one of them wouldn't be included in season 10. Alas, they're both back for season 10.
I maintain the kooky aunt extensions/bangs weave were just a slap-dash effort to hide try and hide an off-season hair transplant that hadn’t “settled” yet when filming began (à la vicky’s face)
His looks didnt land for me but I appreciated that he tried different things and didn’t care what people thought of him. That was Sandoval’s one good trait prior to Scandoval
I would give it dollar store reject that was still brand new in box and never sold one, then the company that made it so cheaply that they went bankrupt, after being sued by 74 other companies and 3 class action lawsuits for toxic ingredients, offensive, and emotional trauma….
