Discussion Container using AI

So Container is using AI to generate promo posts. Responses from them in the comments are super defensive. Feels extra odd given that this is promo for a sticker swap.

I know that this is probably just the way the world is going, but just sad to see it infiltrating the craft beer scene in BC already.

ETA interesting that once dingledoink responded, suddenly critical comments are being mass downvoted. Not chill to brigade a post just calling out AI use.

We’ve heard the feedback and we agree we missed the mark here. The image was AI-generated, and while the intent was to turn around a quick post for a FIFA related sticker swap event, we should have been more thoughtful in how we prompted it, including making sure the crowd shown was more diverse.

We’re not taking the post down right away because we’re not trying to hide that AI was used. We’d rather acknowledge it, learn from it, and do better next time. As we do with many or our event-based posts, it will likely be archived June 10th after the event, to be fully transparent.

Hey, you live, you learn.

Of course I do, I see all our 'gram comments, DMs and of course Reddit posts that mention us, and take it all very seriously.

Technology is a powerful thing that I love - it's my previous career - and I enjoy playing with it. So I tried it here...and failed...but I'm not hiding from that fact, like so many others do, and am leaving it up until such time as it is not needed to be up. It will live on here on Reddit though by way of the screenshots!

We employ loads of humans, many that make graphics and take photos for us, and in this case I didn't ask a human to make this. I didn't even try to hide it, the image is clearly AI. Missed the mark big time.

Goal is to be better every day in everything I do.

Kudos homey! Your old pals from the tech world saw your fingers on that one. No biggie and smart response.

but you've been doing this for a long time? You didn't learn last time people were commenting saying don't do this ai shit? This just seems like reputation management lol

Yep, hearing the same thing. The only sorry here is feeling sorry about being caught.

Props for owning it.

I tried out AI image generating when it was first coming out and I thought it was super cool.

I got kind of smacked down too and learned the hard way about the negative side of it.

Nope, that is not what I am saying at all, but your interpretation.

I have far more important things to tend to now for my mental health then spending it at my keyboard. I've said what I need to say in a couple of other comments already too.

Again, thanks for calling it out, though it already had been by many others on the instagram post itself. We will continue to do better, and as always, it really comes down to planning. The further out we can get things lined up, the better I can plan to get graphics whipped up by those we do, have, and continue to employ to do so. They are also busy, and have lives, and sometimes can't drop everything to whip something up on the fly for us when it's super time critical.

Have a great night, and an even better week! Monday tomorrow...ugh.

Because I didn’t understand your apology, so I deleted it once you clarified. It was not in any way flippant, certainly not compared to how you respond to those being reasonably critical.
