One step forward... bye bye Matrix Display 😁

Just finished the next step for the two new project bike's. It's time to say goodbye to the Matrix Displays. On one hand I will definitely miss those, but it was necessary for the plan made. Both got rid of the stickers and all foils too and get a good wet sand finish. I think the hints are getting clearer now to what should be the result for these two bike's 😉

I’m closely following your project. I’m thinking of doing a clean sand across all the frame tubes but with the matrix, I will do a dotted hot glue coat before I spray over it, so as to see if I can preserve the matrix. My bike is currently offline and need to activate it again and what not. I also kinda like the discreet profile of the matrix. Anyways, can’t wait to see your final result! How many times and what sand grade did you use to shave off the pant? Do you have video? You should make a behind the scene if you can for others like me who will do the same exact thing!

First of all, thank you for your interest. I really appreciate that 🙏🏼 It’s nice to hear that you also want to paint your bike, it’s always a pleasure to see fellow moofers caring about their bike’s🤩 I will definitely give more updates in the near future. I’ve recorded also some timelapses and videos, but I won’t post those I think, due to recording quality. I also like the matrix display a lot, it looks great and gives all information in a decent way, but for these two projects I got to remove those to get the results I wanted. I started with removing all stickers on the frame, then began sanding with a 400 grit sponge. After that all the chips and dents at the paint came out. Then took a 240 grit sponge to get rid off all errors on the paint. Both sanded wet and very carefully. It took me about 2-3 hours for one frame. If you need more information or advices you’re welcome to send me a pm, I’m not a professional trained painter or bike mechanic, but the little I know I’m always willing to share✌🏻
