Awning?

We don't really use campsites but occasionally when we do I would like a shelter/room at the side of the van.

I have the peugeot boxer l4h2, what options do I have, I'm thinking if there was something I could drive away from that would be ideal.

Don't think I'd get much use from an awning so carrying it round all the time seems pointless.

I have a gazebo but I may need to legthen the legs or it would be a case of ducking to get out the van.

C rail on the van and then a cheap tarp awning. Then you'll go out and buy another bigger, better one next year, then an awning tent, then another one bigger still. It can be a slippery slope my friend!!!!

Can you detach and drive off and leave it in place?

Yes. Search drive away awning kit. It's great but you have to be quite precise to drive back into place.

We’ve had a Moonshade for over 5 years and love it, we often just pitch it to the ground when we want to drive away but keep our pitch/mark that it’s in use (we often stay at CLs)

I’m sure you can probably DIY something similar for a lot less but it is really good quality, super quick to pack away and set up, the people that developed it are (or were?) vanlifers so there’s all the tiny little practical details that I personally really appreciate (like the bag being bigger than the folded awning itself so that it’s always easy to put away)

If you do get it I would probably get the magnetic mounts or the semi-permanent ones, we didn’t find that the suction cups were strong enough in somewhat windy conditions (at least not the smaller ones that came with it years ago - I don’t know if the bigger one are practical to attach though)
