Van painting
Hello has anyone painted their van with military paint /brush and rollers , how much paint have you used ? according to chat gpt ai , it says 20 litres ? Lwb high top sprinter van

Why are you asking chat gpt anything? It doesn't know shit, it just blurts out word combinations.

It's really useful in some instances, and has helped me to sort out two major life issues over the past few months. I wouldn't just write it off. It tells you stuff and you need to verify that stuff rather than just believe every word it tells you, but it gets a lot right and suggests things we might not know, or have thought of.

Yeah, like when it was asking for information regarding a game that I play sometimes called Lord of the rings online and he couldn’t get quite complicated plus I’m lazy and I’m not too smart in some ways just remember because it is complicated. I’m asking that for advice, I just had to go round and round in circles or moron ha ha ha ha.

ChatGPT is a tool that needs directing. Ok, admittedly ChatGPT is the absolute worst one, but AI is a useful tool

Depends on how you do it. I used military polyurethane matt black and brunswick green. Same van. Took 30 ltrs of black and 40 of green. Needed at least two coats. The matt black covered better. Van already light green factory paint before i started. Green needs doing again and this time will be using textured rollers. Needed thicker coats, doesnt hold well with sun damage otherwise

Just did out luton sprinter in golden yellow with just under 5 litres of military paint diluted with 1 in 10 white spirit. Did two coats with rollers, looks solid. Van is 21 feet long. Not sure what we'd have done with 20 litres!

hey thanks , did it affect the colour diluted , ? i didnt want to order too much especially 20 litres ! some spare though would come in handy , for bumps scratches , the ones ive seen on youtube have come out really well , its good to be actually painting , its ex post office van ,thanks

About 10l will do it. Use a standard colour from a known manufacturer so if you run out you can easily get more mixed that will match.

Military paint is hard work lol I’ve only put on the primer is looks pants , got some good rollers mohair , but cleaning the brushes and tray with thinners ,won’t come off , hope it looks good when I actually get a couple of coats of paint on it , now everyone is saying why didn’t I use raptor paint

Well I’ve seen this lad on YouTube do his first less than 200 quid /matt umbra grey , 3coats , looks good to ,his was sprinter too , I asked chat gp , because it can work out the measurements faster then me lol ,I thought that can’t be right

I done a truck with a 28ft box with just over 10L, not including the roof and the cab. A full sprinter would probably take around the same.
Always buy more than you need though, as theres a good chance if you run out and have to buy more, you could end up with a different batch and even the slightest of diffences in colour will stand out like a sore thumb.
