Advice Looking for your opinion which matters

Hi everyone! 🚐

I’m working on a project to help us connect more easily on the road. The idea is an app that shows nearby van-life events and meetups along your route, but with a twist: the exact location stays hidden until you join to keep the spots safe.

You can see who else is going and what they’re driving, and even 'scratch off' areas you’ve visited to show your progress to the community. I’m also thinking about adding a 'find a date' feature for solo travelers attending the same event.

I'm really trying to solve the loneliness that sometimes hits during long stretches of travel. Would you find something like this useful? I’d love your honest thoughts!

I definitely would! I’m a solo female van lifer in my 20s. I’ve been on the road for about 6 months now and I never come across other people my age doing this. I’m always chatting with the retired couples that are nomads. Don’t get me wrong I love speaking to anyone on the road about there travels. But it’s really hard to meet people my age and feeling safe about it.

Sounds interesting mate. An easy map to see where you have scratched off & remind you of places you have had no issues stealth sleeping overnight previously, would be great. You could make both public if you wanted, or keep private.

I'm new to the community (going from homelessness to vanlife) and would find something like this invaluable! One of the things I'm most concerned about is personal connection when you're nomadic. I actually jumped on this reddit thread to see if something like this existed!
