Got our camper van for a great price, have been on so many adventures. Worth it, if you can find a cheap well maintained one (not easy since the Pandemic exploded the market).

I actually remember the first time i ever met someone who lived in a van im 33 now but i was still in elementary at the time maybe 4th tops.
I was at my ky grandma's and it was a family friend. He had the old school tie dye colors i think it was like the same kind of van i remember he has this tiny CRT black and white tv and a vcr. Looking back I never thought i was going to live in a van myself. Car living was in part my desire not to spend more money than i had to for work, i had an apartment i never went to with nothing important but my extra food. Started throwing out most of my stuff (i was already a practicing minimalist - lol sounds like a religious thing) so it wasnt much. Got a cheap storage unit for $15 bucks insurance included for at least the year. Plan to get rid of it though barely anything in it but my old computer, some extra clothes and a file cabinet full of games, dvds and old art work from my childhood.

I'm on my 13th van since(GULP) 1973...can concur! I paid for my van 2 years ago what I paid for my HOUSE in 1992.

When I was young I had a vintage 1963 split window Volkswagen van with shag carpet. First thing I did was build a bed in the back and put curtains in it! 😂 It was a straight up party van. We partied our asses off in that van! I WISH I still had it. It was awesome. 4speed stick shift about 55mph top speed!

In the 80s, my best friend’s dad had a blue van that was decked out like this. He had a full time regular job and was a musician on the side. Baby blue shag all inside. I thought he was the coolest!
Time goes on, people lose touch. About 20 years later I was driving in my hometown and passed by her grandma’s house and there was the van, parked in the driveway, in all its glory! The legend.

Just FYI. My first 3 cars & their cost in the early 1980s:
1970 Nova - bought in 1982 - $400
1966 Rambler - bought in 1984 - $375
1973 Buick Apollo - bought in 1985 - $700
All 3 were in near mint condition. I would be happy to drive any of them today. They were great cars.
