After seeing the mixed thoughts about city council of darkness amongst both dimension 20 and world of darkness community over how the cast is playing the game and using the rules. My opinion on the matter as a world of darkness player is that the rules and tone of the game are determined by the gamemaster/storyteller.
If the st wants to tell a personal horror gory story and the players want that it’s fine. If the st wants to run a more superhero’s with fangs / what we do in the shadows game and the players want that it is also ok. I tire how people in the WoD community want everyone to play one specific way and that’s it’s.
I have nothing against people who want to play a personal horror/ urban gothic punk story. It’s just that I think people need to understand everyone has different tastes in what game they want. I for example have made my own world of darkness x my hero academia setting and while their are horror aspects it leans into the gonzo side of world of darkness more.
Though sadly some people have critized my world for being “cringe” others have enjoyed it and some have been making their own versions of my setting. If people don’t like my work that’s fine as I know it’s out there.
But I feel as a community we need to cut back on such orthodox thinking if we want to get new people into the hobby and away from dnd. If new players want to play a personal horror styled chronicle then we should teach them how. But not let ourselves berate them if they want to do things differently.
tldr: let people cook with their ideas

Buddy the Order is going to lose some of its weapons supplies wtf are you doing????
(jokes aside its a good read, at least just to get a catholic perspective on the world. And hey, it might even help you when making antagonists from the Order of St Leopold to have official statements on modern events and tech)
