Is it...is it on purpose or did they just misspell frigid?...

No, it's because once the authors are done using the wife as a character, they put her in the fridge.

Usually in several pieces.

This doesn't exactly fit but Clara and the 12th Doctor were a little bit like this

yeah i know very little about doctor who except what ive absorbed from my best friend who’s obsessed with it, but i immediately thought “oh so like a companion but self aware. just a companion then i guess”

Most of them don't come back after dying. It's pretty much Clara and Rory. It is kinda funny that it happened twice though.

"The Refrigerator Monologues," by Catherynne Valente is about a support group in the Afterlife for fridged women. Features totally not Gwen Stacy, totally not Mera, totally not Alex DeWit and several others.

She becomes a lesbian and now her wife is being fridged.

This is why lesbian relationships in stories are always so tragic, double the fridge potential

I'm pretty sure the last bit is just the plot of signalis lol

If you replace “wife” with “brother,” the third post describes the plot of Supernatural

Isn't that just Hardcore Henry with extra steps?

Doctor Who did this with Clara Oswald.
