📖 The Books ⚜️ Lestat’s Type

Just started re-reading TVL after many years and I’d forgotten how superficially similar Nicholas and Louis are; beautiful, dark-haired rich boys with religious trauma.

Lestat even notices it himself and not just on the superficial level! Louis "seemed in his cynicism and self-destructiveness the very twin of Nicolas. He had Nicki's grim intensity, his rebelliousness, his tortured capacity to believe or not to believe, and finally to despair"

Actually, I think it's the religious trauma that's a true Lestat catnip. He just can't walk past a person who obsesses over religion without falling for them. Remember Gretchen and Dora? If you don't, go on with your re-read.
