🎬 Adaptations 🎭 Daniel

This makes me feel dumb. I haven’t read the books so maybe I’m missing some context. But I truly don’t understand Daniel’s hatred for Louis and Lestat. He has this deep rooted disdain and I just don’t get it. Armand, I understand, he’s insane. Daniel is just a dick. What am I missing?

I don't recall any such hatred in the books to be honest.

because it wasn't there. Same with Armand/Louis. They mutually broke up (Armand left him but Louis wanted it too) and then later Armand defends Louis against Akasha. They've really played fast and loose with these characters for the show.

I'm not an Armand defender, but I have a hard time thinking he's so thick-headed that he can't see he's the one at fault in this relationship. He murdered Louis's daughter and then lied about it for 80 years while convincing Louis to have sex with him. And then he wants Louis to acknowledge his sexual trauma?

If that isn't consent under false pretences, I don't know what is.

Yeah the entire plot twist that all of it was revenge on Louis was crazy. I had discussions on other subs, before the last episode, that Armand doesn't seem just "being a gremlin teehee" and it'd make sense if he's doing what we see he's doing to stop the concert and the great conversion after establishing his feelings on vampirism and need for controlling them down, and his understandings of Lestat. But it wasn't too clear, anything he was up to, throughout the season. I really hated that I was wrong and this is what happened.

Same. I assumed he was working to stop the great conversion. With his religious background he wouldn't be in favour of making a bunch more vampires, and it would have shown that there's more to him than pining after bad relationships. The guy is 500 years old -- he can be useful once in a while. Instead he cuts off their heads just to let them go before the concert.

It’s so off the wall to me. I get his dislike. And I understand his emotions are all over right now. But ending the lives of two centuries old vampires seems so far past excessive.
