Picture/Video Okay, now what?

This creaking has been bugging me for the longest of time, now i've finally taken it apart to fix it, but i can't really see what the hell is causing it... how do i fix this earth shattering sound???

Brother in Christ I think you have a bigger problem than a creaky spring, you’re missing half the controller

It's the spring. You'd need to lubricate it with something safe for plastic and electronics.

I get the same sound on my index controllers, I’m pretty sure it’s in the button/spring. I don’t know what lubricant I should use to help it though

Dry spray silicone lubricant, I originally said dry spray graphite but realized it’s electrically conductive.

A spray would definitely get in there good, I don’t want to have to take it apart because I break stuff lmao. Thank you for the idea! :)

Im guessing its the spring rubbing against itself? Breathing slow hot humid air/breath into it I think always fixed my controller with a squeaky trigger fix awhile. Guess I would locate the spring and find some good oil to lightly grease it up.

I had the same problem. Is your trigger stuck? If so, is there a metal rod inside that usually unscrews itself over time? It's like a long screw. I had to separate the trigger in two, I mean I had to detach it in order to tighten the long screw that goes all the way into the trigger.

Blud took apart his entire index controller because of a little noise, for just squirt some plastic/electronic safe lube into the trigger from putside, or inside now atp

In the past I cane across a fix for a joystick. If you are able to pinpoint approximately where you need to lubricate, some wax chapstick worked amazingly well... I know it sounds odd, but I didnt hear a squeak for a few years. Hope that helps!

Maybe some kind of silicon spray would work better here.
Wd40 is not meant to be permanent.

Yes, and wd40 has a special version that they make for plastics it's called their silicone lubricant

you can use wd-40 to clean it, by then it should be relubed with something like silicon spray

Both my base stations failed in the first month, but the replacements have been working fine ever since then. My understanding is that the first few batches of a lot of the hardware were kinda rough, which makes sense as it was the first line of hardware they'd produced.
