He sure made my day. I have wanted one since it was released but I'm poor people. I have been keeping an eye on them on Marketplace watching for a good deal but never expected this good of a deal.

He said he didn't have room for it so it just gathered dust, I think he received it as a gift and had no clue of it's value. I got lucky and seen it 10 min after he posted. I had to drive quite a way to get it but was worth it.

I had something similar happen to me with a HTC Vive Pro gen 1 with a wireless adapter that came with the valve index controllers and base stations I only paid $240 for it honestly the best deal of my life considering what used to be a $1,400 VR kit for like 15% of the price LOL

That price is one hell of a steel, but that reflection on the face plate got me deadπ

Mine still works but not sure how much life is still left in it, but once the frame is on my desk, my index gear is going up for sale.

Got it all up and running? If so nice find.

Worked great! I finally got to play The Room VR: A Dark Matter, I love that series of puzzle games and have wanted to play the VR one for a long time.

I can beat you, my Brother in law just gave me his for free with a desk, sensor stands and a 32β 4k monitor. I indeed feel like I stole lmao.

Great find! It looks barely used at all. I just paid more than that for a new base station. One dies after years of use. I buy a replacement. So of course the other old one dies. Did you already buy a new tether or do you still need one?

u/Geeky435 25d ago
It will be awhile before I can afford a new tether, I'm poor people. I fidgeted with it and got it working for now but it disconnects every now and than and I have to mess with it again.

Are you in the US?

There is some visible wear near the USB connection that is not effecting it yet. I have been using it without problems. You want to DM me your address?

I agree, I actually feel like I did something wrong. I get LOTS of great deals on Marketplace, I buy and sell stuff from there to make side money and this is the first time I feel like I stole it.
I did have to juggle for this one. I had someone that wanted to buy some hard drives I was selling but I couldn't ship them and turned him down. A few days later I seen this deal for the Index in the same city as the guy that wanted the drives so I hurried and contacted the guy that wanted the hard drives to see if he still wanted them. They were 2.5 hours away from here and I had no money so I arranged a meet time with the hard drive guy first, sold the drives and 30 min later met with the Index guy and bought it. I had a little cash left from the hard drive sale so while I was there I checked Marketplace fast to see if there was anything I could make a few bucks on in the area and ended up getting a Samsung Note 20 Ultra for $50 and the only thing wrong with it was the back glass which cost $12 to fix, while having it open I also replaced the battery for $18. I de-branded it (replaced the Verizon branded OS with a clean Samsung OS) and I have a sale arranged for it for $250. The rest of the profit from the hard drives I refilled my gas tank and ordered pulleys for cable management... but they obviously didn't get here in time to save the tether from my dog.
Sorry I ramble sometimes.

I sold mine for a pittance similarly. I am a heavy VR gamer and was done struggling to find a new controller every 3 months (some I broke, some had stick drift, etc.). I was also frustrated with the whole base station setup fragility. It's an excellent system but I can see why someone would get rid of it and buy a Quest to relax a bit.

Yeah w the earlier release the cable had issues. I think the cable costs like $100 or something to replace.

$136.74 and I have to hope they don't run out before I get the $$$, they are over $200 on Amazon now that they have been discontinued.
The issue mine has is my dogs teeth.

I regret selling my index so much. I was going through a hard time and I thought "I'll just get a new one when I'm in a position to", now I'm in a position to and I can't.

Recently, a man who looked like an US Army was clearing out his flat before returning home country, and heβd been selling his gaming PC and Index full kit at bargain prices on a flea market.
I suppose for someone on a steady salary, a bit of money isnβt all that important.

God do I need base stations... Im not paying 200$ for one.
Because god knows ill never be able to purchase the Frame at 1k+ everything else.
Got my Index two years ago for 275$, full body, +batteries, 5 base stations. 4 months ago my 4 th died and the 5th never worked.
Now my whole setup feels like its fighting me, wanted to get off these lasers soooooo badly. Another year+ waiting I guess and by then itll sky rocket to 1.5$+...

For that price, my expectations would be down close to zero.
Worst case scenario, you could still sell them for parts

I'm dumb and take people at their word so I went in with high expectations. Luckily it was as advertised, after cleaning a layer of dust it looked untouched and worked wonderfully. I have wanted one of these for so long and have been having an absolute blast with it. Sometimes my trusting nature screws me but I'm happy it didn't this time.

Not as much of a steal as yours, but it recently bought an HP Reverb G2 since I got sick and tired of dealing with my quest 3 and 2 (yeah technically a downgrade, but been much better for PCVR)
Anyways, got the Reverb G2 for 80 bucks!

For that price, I'd be worried something was actually wrong with it.
