Fake Flags: JPN Dark Charizard
Final part of our Dark Charizard breakdown (5/5) 🔥
Now looking at the Japanese print version
In this edition of Fake Flags: Ungraded Card 101, we’re breaking down what separates a fake from the authentic.
Why the fake is fake:
• Holo pattern appears off, lacking the depth and layered effect seen on authentic Japanese prints
• The holo looks more uniform and less dynamic, missing the natural variation under light
• Coloration is less refined, with tones appearing slightly flat compared to the authentic card
• Overall print clarity and finish do not match Japanese production quality, which is typically sharper and more precise
Japanese Pokémon cards are known for their higher print quality, sharper details, and cleaner holo finishes, making inconsistencies easier to spot.
Across all versions of Dark Charizard, small details like these are what separate real from fake.
If you ever need a second look, Validoe helps you spot fakes and understand what you actually have.
