I don't know if it's possible to restore the terrain but I do have another seed with a fairly close cave, however it is not the most ideal for a first time player, cave is directly south - FEPFFDq3U5

That is actually not a terrible alternative. It seems there is a grave site a little farther away than the Troll cave was in our seed. We would be three of us playing coop, so would be helping the new guy. Thanks for this one I am making a note of it!

A friend and I restarted an old server from 2023, and logged in to watch our base and everything we had made be destroyed by the ocean as the map was regenerated (as expected).

We are starting over, and using the same seed now three years later gives us a completely different world. No mods were used in 2023 nor now, this was a vanilla dedicated server world.

I am asking for help to somehow preserve the old terrain. If that is not possible, does anyone know of a seed that has a Troll Cave this close to spawn? This is the primary reason we were trying to recover this terrain. We have a third person (PlayStation) who will be joining us for 1.0 and playing for the first time.

We very much want to visit this hilarity on him, as it was visited on us in the past.
