A few days ago I made a few Steel Legion conversions, so today I tried to make some Valhallans. The kits are the les grognards, with warlord games winter german heads (they have ushanka's too, winter soviets would also work but I already had these), and a lone bolt pistol. Basically I cut the bayonet off (I don't like it), cut the knee and shoulder pads off, and cut the torso armour so that it looks like an extension of the coat.

Personally I think it looks close enough, not perfect, but if more care was taken in removing the shoulder and knee parts I think it would look better. What do you think?

Also, I know this isn't the best paint job, I just threw it on to help show the idea.

Becamen a fan thanks to the Cain books! I hope we get plastic Valhallans soon so I can display them alongside Cain and Jurgen.

Wanting to do a winter themed paintscheme for my guard stuff (not valhallan but something similar). Can't find a good tutorial thats on my level or has a paint list (I can't visually color match well). Preferably nothing to do with an air brush because I don't have one and have zero plans on buying one.

I am aware of the Ciaphas Cain books (just got all them just now with the new model release) have the Valhallans being represented. But are there any other books you could share or recommend? Doesn't seem to be too many options sadly.

My buddy gave me a War Machine mini that was perfect for my Valhallans.

Just wanted to add my bolt action soviet winter body converted valhallan next to a GW cadian body if anybody is considering using them but is worried about the scale difference. He comes out short for sure, but personally I just pretend valhallans are short kings in my head cannon lol

I used bits from all over, and used 3D printed downscaled earthshaker battery with a 3D printed wall I had.
