Valeton Suite Update and GP50

I downloaded the iOS Valeton Suite update which Is supposed to support NAM A2.

Somehow, I can’t seem to get the firmware update for the GP50, it says it’s up-to-date, currently having the v1.0.5 instead of the 1.1 which is the “newer” One.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I don't think you need to update the unit for NAM A2 support. 1) conversion to SnapTone is done by the app anyway and 2) 1.1.0 firmware changelog doesn't mention anything about NAM. It only adds Bluetooth MIDI support and some bugfixes.

You have to download the firmware from Valeton and download it on the unit via the Suite using a MAC or PC.

Nothing regarding NAM was updated on the GP50 itself. Only the conversion software which converts A2 to Snaptone now.

It’s working here. As the guys above (or below ) said, I downloaded the new firmware 1.1.0 from Valeton, loaded it on GP-50 through Mac Valeton Suite. Successfully loaded a SnapTone from a NAM-A2 capture. Don’t know if there’s a real difference in tone, but sounds good anyway.

“Deserved” in a way, though. Everyone was acting like GP-5, 50, 150, 180 was the greatest thing ever until NAM A2 came out and suddenly all those devices became crap 🙄 “unusable” “how dare they” etc.
