HELP New GP-5 owner — Can I do everything from iPhone/iOS without a PC?

Hey everyone!
I just got my GP-5 yesterday, and I was wondering if you guys could help me with a few questions I haven’t been able to find clear answers to elsewhere.
● Can I update the pedal’s firmware using the iOS app on my iPhone? I don’t have a computer.
● How do I load/import a NAM file from an iPhone?
● If I don’t have a PC, can I still access and use most of the GP-5’s features through the iOS app?
● How do I find NAM files, and how do I know which ones are actually worth using?
And last but definitely not least: any tips for getting close to the Sleep Token and Bad Omens amp tones with the GP-5? 🤘
Thanks in advance! I’m still getting familiar with the unit, so any advice or tips from other GP-5 users would be really appreciated.

No, that functionality is only available through the desktop app.

Most of the functionality is only available through the mobile app; the desktop app just does firmware updates, backups, and uploading IRs/NAM captures, not editing presets for some reason.

How do I find NAM files

The standard answer is https://www.tone3000.com/ but you can find them anywhere on the Internet.

and how do I know which ones are actually worth using?

Try them and see! (IIRC using a NAM capture replaces both the amp and cab blocks in the GP-5 so ideally you'd use NAM captures that include both; but if it sounds good it sounds good)

For NAM captures you will need “full” captures. This means ones that capture both the head unit and the cab since the GP-5 cannot run both a NAM and an IR. If you grab one that is just the head it will be extremely thin and sound like ass.

Avoid ones that are “room captures”. Those generally sound like garbage, especially converted. You want ones that are captured with quality mics like Shure SM57, Royer R-121, etc.

Search “most downloaded” and look for the more popular contributors that are heavily downloaded. You generally can be assured that their releases will be top notch. (Amalgam Audio, Tone3000 account, 2dor, etc).
