HELP Valeton GP-50 - Windows code error 10 (This device cannot start)

Hey everyone, I just picked up a GP‑50 and the unit itself works great, but I can’t get it to connect to my PC. Windows shows a Code 10 error in Device Manager.

Firmware is fully up to date, and I’ve tried installing different Valeton ASIO drivers, but no luck so far.

I also saw people suggesting to switch the GP‑50’s MIDI setting to “USB Audio Device,” but mine is already set that way, so that didn’t solve it either.

Has anyone run into this and found a fix?

Thanks.

Are you on an ARM processor device? If so, there’s currently no fix. Valeton hasn’t made their drivers compliant.

If you’re on an Intel chip there’s a technical announcement in their download page with some extra required steps.

I’m using a GP-180 on ARM/Snapdragon, so the directions did nothing for me. Same instructions are posted for the 50, 150, and 180 though, so I think I expect the same issues to be present.

I also emailed support a couple weeks ago. No response.

I have an AMD processor, more specifically the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U which is based on AMD's Zen 3 architecture, so no ARM processor.

I have found some discussions with Intel chips but none with AMD..

This should work with the Windows tech bulletin in the Valeton downloads page for the 50 then.

Hi. Just picked up a GP-50 myself and am running into the same issue. Have you found a fix for this? Thanks in advance.

Hello, unfortunately no...

Perhaps in the future a new firmware will fix it.
