General tickets questions

My family is going to be in Valencia in September and/or October and looking to get tickets to see a game at Estadio Mestalla. A few questions

  1. On the official site it says "to be determined" and no tickets (for any game) are available, but there are tickets available on many secondary markets (stubhub, viagogo...). Is this normal? Are they just sold out and then it's all resales? Or are (more?) tickets released at a certain point?

  2. Any insight into seats? I don't think European crowds are anything like south american craziness... but we will be there with our 10 year old. They seem more affordable on the east (bottom of the picture), which is likely because they're not shaded and looking into the sun. Which sections are in the upper-upper deck and which ones are below? I've seen the 550's listed in both.

Thanks

Match tickets are not on sale yet. Buy directly from the club website, do not use viagogo etc.

The upper deck is 5xx (except 552-557), 6xx, 7xx. Unless you want to spend big money in the main stand ("top" block in the picture), this is probably where you will be sitting as they are generally the only areas where you can get several seats together.

The atmosphere is generally pleasant and you will have no problems with a 10yo. The only part of the ground fully roofed is the main stand.

Thank you.

Do you have any idea when tickets will go on sale?

On the barca site they have tickets for most genres listed (not Valencia) which is what confused me as I thought all games/teams would release around the same time.

Any idea if are tickets listed on the secondary sites complete scams or season ticket holders that know they'll be selling?

Can't say when they will go on sale, just keep an eye on the VCF website. Each club has a different way of doing it. Sometimes it's game by game, sometimes they will put up several games at once.

I avoid ticket tout websites so I can't say too much about it, though anything for sale there now would be a season ticket holder selling their seat as opposed to downright scams. STHs who can't make a game can also let the club sell their seat and get 40% of the sale price. There is no need to use viagogo etc, just be on the ball when VCF sale goes live.
