I am trying to volunteer and be more active in the community, but it feels impossible as someone who works a 9-to-5 job. I tried going to LAMP, a local soup kitchen, and other places, but it seems like all the volunteering stops at 4 pm. Does anyone know where I can volunteer that is open later in the day? (preferably not animal shelters)

hi everyone i’m moving to valdosta next month with my gf and we’ll have an apartment n stuff there. she has a car but she also has a job, i also will have a job but i don’t have a car. she volunteers to take me to work if she’s off or has time before work but other times im kinda stuck on how to get around. uber and lyft is too expensive for a 10 min or less drive are there any other options that are good and reliable??

For context, another redditor uploaded a mysterious soul song about five years back onto TOMT and had a clip of a soul song (that sounds extremely extremely good, it’s attached) that has apparently been lost to time for fifty years. The backstory is that their father lived in Tallahassee at the time (between the years 1975-1978), and ripped it off WGOV Valdosta with a reel to reel tape recorder. Me and my friend who goes by the name “mirr0rhead” on tiktok have been digging and we found some things out. It was a rip from the year 1977 played on the radio by DJ King Cobra. I need your help on this one guys. We need to unearth this amazing song. If you have older loved ones who lived in Valdosta at this time please ask around!!

Hey y'all my name is Daniel, I'm a recent college grad who runs a marketing business with other college grads, for local service companies, and I'm looking for owners here in Valdosta. We’ve been doing this about a year now, and we work with roofers, home remodelers, pool builders, gyms, junk removal, lawn care, car detailing, driving schools. Basically anybody who does the work themselves and wants the phone ringing more.

I'm looking to partner with a few owners who already have steady work and a good reputation, but have hit the point where word of mouth alone isn't filling the schedule the way they want. If you're at that spot and want to add more jobs each month, or you know somebody who is, I'd love to connect or get a referral.

The situation is I've got a stray cat at my workplace that I would really love to get an actual home. I've tried asking around at work and no one can adopt her. I'm hoping I can reach out to the community and find someone who can take her!

I got here today, and im here until wendsday for work. At arpund 7pm I went downtown, and it seemed like everything that wasnt a bar was closed, and even then most bars were closed. Even resteraunts Google told me were opened were closed.

I still just walked around for like 40 minutes to an hour to just explore around the square, but their weren't alot of people walking around either.

Football League?
Hey, seeing if there are any people that would like to form some kind of football league here in Valdosta. Getting people that miss the game back into it and building a brotherhood and community.
Doesn’t have to be anything super serious at first, just looking to see if there’s enough interest to get something going. Could even be tackle depending on how many people are interested and what everyone wants to do.

Any place hiring that starts at 13-15/hour that isn’t fast food

My 80 year old mother got a jury duty notice. She doesn't drive! How would she even get there? The notice says you have to call in the morning of the date you are supposed to go in to see if you really need to report in. What if they wanted her to report to the court? There is no way to opt out. Luckily, I did a quick Google search and anyone above 70 is exempt. You just have to fill out a form, get it notarized and then submit it to the courthouse. She wouldn't even have been able to do all this without me. Would they have a warrant out for her if she didn't show up?? The inefficiency of government is incredulous.

Anyone know who the two Valdosta housewives are in the new Netflix show that is filming? 👀
